About us
Private Therapy Clinic (PTC) has provided psychological and psychiatric services since 2011, across the UK and Ireland. In Ireland we have clinics in Dublin (Nassau Street, opposite Trinity College), Limerick and Nenagh, plus a national online service. Our team includes consultant psychiatrists, chartered psychologists, psychotherapists and specialist trauma clinicians. We are an award winner at the Tipperary Business Awards.
The opportunity
We are building a team of trauma specialists for an upcoming contract with a national Irish transport organisation. You'll support staff who have been involved in operational incidents, traumatic events and other situations where specialist psychological support is needed.
This role depends on the contract being awarded. We are building the team now so we can name suitably qualified people in our bid.
What you'll do
* Provide timely psychological support to staff after critical incidents and traumatic events
* Carry out trauma-informed assessments, including risk assessment
* Deliver evidence-based trauma therapy, such as EMDR and trauma-focused CBT
* Offer sessions online and, where needed, in person in Ireland
* Monitor progress using standard outcome measures
* Liaise with the client's HR and occupational health teams, with the employee's consent
* Signpost or refer onward where more specialist support is needed
* Keep accurate, secure clinical records in line with GDPR and professional standards
Essential
* Psychologist (PSI Chartered or equivalent) or accredited psychotherapist/counsellor (e.g. IACP, IAHIP, CBT accreditation, or equivalent)
* Training in EMDR and/or trauma-focused CBT
* Experience working with trauma in adults
* Sound understanding of risk assessment and safeguarding
* Right to work in Ireland, and willingness to undergo Garda vetting
Desirable
* EMDR Europe accreditation, or working towards it
* Experience with workplace trauma, critical incidents or emergency services staff
* Experience in occupational, employee assistance (EAP) or corporate settings
* Ability to offer some in-person availability in Dublin or other parts of Ireland
What we offer
* Self-employed associate role with flexible hours to fit around your existing work
* Hybrid working: online sessions plus in-person work where needed
* Competitive sessional rates
* Admin and booking support from our operations team
* Supervision and peer support within a specialist trauma team
* The chance to be part of a growing national service and future contracts
Practical details
* Contract type: self-employed associate
* Location: Ireland, hybrid (online and in person)
* Start: 2027, subject to the contract being awarded
* You'll need your own professional indemnity insurance
