PE Global Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Treasury Accountant on behalf of a major Irish public sector organisation.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant to join an established treasury and financial reporting function within a large and highly regarded public sector entity.
The successful candidate will join the Treasury Operations and Reporting team, working within a professional finance environment responsible for the management, reporting and control of significant public funds and treasury-related activities.

The Role
The Treasury Accountant will play a key role in the preparation, review and delivery of financial reporting across a range of treasury-related activities and investment portfolios.
Reporting to the Treasury Reporting Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, maintaining robust financial controls and supporting statutory and management reporting requirements.
The position will also provide the opportunity to contribute to process improvements, audit activities, systems projects and wider initiatives across the treasury function.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management reporting and reconciliations across treasury-related accounts.
- Deliver daily, weekly and monthly reporting requirements within agreed deadlines.
- Support the preparation of annual financial statements across a number of significant public sector funds and investment portfolios.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of treasury reporting processes, accounting policies and financial controls.
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes and operational efficiencies.
- Support the efficient delivery of internal and external audits across treasury activities.
- Participate in project work and user acceptance testing alongside business-as-usual responsibilities.
- Maintain strong working relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Ensure reporting and reconciliation activities are completed accurately and to a high standard.
- Undertake additional treasury reporting and finance-related responsibilities as required.
Experience & Qualifications
The successful candidate should have:
- A third-level degree or equivalent qualification in Finance, Accountancy, Business or a related discipline.
- A completed professional accountancy qualification such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
- Previous experience working within a busy financial reporting, treasury reporting or reconciliation environment.
- Experience working to daily, monthly and year-end reporting deadlines.
- Strong financial reporting and reconciliation skills.
- Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to manage several concurrent responsibilities while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and the wider Microsoft Office suite.
Experience in the following areas would be advantageous:
- Audit and financial controls.
- Treasury operations or treasury accounting.
- Systems implementation or improvement projects.
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Financial services, banking, investment management or a public sector finance environment.
