The Role
Make a meaningful impact by helping protect children and create a safer online community.
As a Child Safety Specialist, you’ll play an important role in protecting minors by identifying, reviewing, and reporting content that involves child exploitation or abuse. You’ll help uphold platform safety standards by applying child safety policies, investigating sensitive escalations, and ensuring that appropriate reports are submitted to the relevant organizations and authorities.
In this role, you’ll become a subject matter expert in child safety policies, using sound judgment, attention to detail, and cultural awareness to assess reported content and user activity. You’ll independently review a high volume of cases through internal systems, carefully evaluating each item and documenting your findings to support effective investigations and timely action.
Your work will contribute to a safer, more authentic, and inclusive digital environment—helping protect vulnerable individuals and making a real difference in the online community.
Important Role Consideration
This position requires reviewing sensitive and potentially disturbing content as part of its daily responsibilities. This may include material involving child abuse and exploitation, bestiality, sexual assault, torture, and murder. Candidates must be fully aware of this exposure and be comfortable performing the responsibilities with professionalism, discretion, and emotional resilience.
What You’ll Do:
Lead Critical Investigations: Investigate escalated reports involving minor safety and child exploitation, reviewing sensitive imagery, video, and text with precision and care.
Coordinate with Law Enforcement & NCMEC: Use hashing technology to report illegal content to NCMEC and preserve evidence for law enforcement inquiries.
Act as a Subject Matter Expert: Advise Moderation, CX, and Legal teams on high-priority escalations and complex edge cases.
Shape Policy & Tools: Identify policy grey areas, surface safety trends in monthly business reviews, and partner with Engineering to improve detection tools.
Uphold Operational Excellence: Maintain detailed case documentation, onboard new hires, and conduct peer quality assurance audits.
What We're Looking for:
Experience & Resilience: 1+ years in Trust & Safety or content moderation, with proven resilience and willingness to review graphic, offensive, and child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
Mission Alignment: Commitment to protecting minors, supporting the LGBTQ+ community, and upholding digital safety and justice.
Integrity & Discretion: Absolute dedication to confidentiality, professional ethics, and secure data handling.
Operational Execution: Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to make rapid, high-volume decisions independently in a fast-paced app environment.
Technical Agility: Tech- and mobile-savvy, quick to adopt new internal tools and workflows. (Bonus: Experience with NCMEC reporting and Tech Coalition industry classification systems).
Top-Tier Total Rewards: A competitive base salary complemented by premium, full-spectrum medical, dental, and vision coverage from day one.
True Work-Life Autonomy: Real flexibility with hybrid work arrangements and generous paid time off to recharge whenever you need it.
Investment in Your Future: Clear career pathways, sponsored professional development, and daily collaboration with brilliant, mission-driven teams across the globe.
Holistic Well-being: A people-first culture that genuinely values you—complete with guided, at-home fitness and posture programs designed for desk-based roles.
