The opportunity
We’re looking for an experienced Underwriter – Commercial Property with strong Industrial Special Risks (ISR) capability to help us deliver sustainable profit and growth. You’ll underwrite ISR Property business in line with the business plan, underwriting guidelines and service standards, while managing both new business and a renewal portfolio. You’ll also play a key role in building and maintaining broker relationships and applying your technical expertise.

Your new role:
You'll work within a geographically distributed Commercial Underwriting team, taking ownership of an Adelaide based broker panel and managing your own renewal portfolio. The role combines portfolio management, broker engagement and local market activity to support retention, new business and profitable growth.
- Underwrite new business, renewals and policy servicing within agreed guidelines and delegated authority.
- Manage an Adelaide broker-based panel, providing timely quotes, terms and responsive underwriting support.
- Build strong broker and business partner relationships through regular engagement across the local market.
- Support retention and profitable new business growth across the commercial property portfolio.
- Maintain accurate underwriting administration, audit records and compliance with internal requirements.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and internal stakeholders across the broader Commercial Underwriting team.
About You
You're an experienced insurance professional who can work independently while staying connected to a geographically distributed team. You bring a practical, relationship-focused approach, sound underwriting judgement and confidence engaging with brokers in the Adelaide market.
You'll also have:
- Underwriting experience within ISR or commercial property insurance.
- Alternatively, relevant underwriting experience across SME or business pack products.
- Strong broker relationship and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to assess risk, make sound decisions and work within underwriting authority.
- Strong organisation, communication and attention to detail.
- Ability to travel locally to meet with brokers and business partners.
