Underwriter - Facilities (Healthcare Liability)

In this role, you will…

• Manage a book of Facilities business to maintain and enhance strong client and broker relationships to enhance retention and strong new business flow.
• Underwrite and analyze Facilities risks and offer appropriate underwriting solutions for clients with a focus on profitability as determined by the company.
• Meet and exceed client expectations by providing appropriate pricing and structure based on utilizing all information; all within a timely turn around period.
• Engage and maintain excellent communication with internal team members and meets and delivers the MedPro Group standards of obsessive client focus to each of our clients.
• Understand and execute on key underwriting role in regional and/or state specific market strategies including assistance in development of a marketing plan for such region or state.
• Analyze risks to include but not limited to coverage evaluation, terms and conditions of offer to determine appropriate structure and pricing.
• Travel to increase underwriting front lines sales focus with responsibility as the key contact for assigned Distribution Partners, addressing concerns, needs, and identifying opportunities for new business growth and retention of existing business across all business segments.
• Establish and maintain communication with internal team members that support the specialty team to identify opportunities and strategies that focus on maintaining profitability, increasing new business writings and retaining existing customers.
• Work directly with AU's with coaching and mentoring techniques with focus on increasing underwriting acumen.
• Work within authority and understand escalation requirements within the company.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

We are looking for candidates with…

• BA/BS or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 2-5 years’ experience underwriting Healthcare Facilities and exposures. May consider experience in other areas of healthcare liability/medical malpractice.
• Experience with underwriting process and procedures on facilities which require unique rating techniques and policy language modifications.
• Strong internal and external communication, analytical, negotiation and organizational skills.
• Strong PC Skills.
  
• Ability to maintain strong relationships with Distribution Partners.
• Ability to consistently demonstrate timely and appropriate account management.
• Prefer RPLU, CPCU or IIA designation.

General: MedPro Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer. The annual gross base salary range is $60,000 to $130,000. This range anticipates the low and high end of the salary for this position. Actual salaries will vary and are based on factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills and competencies. Salary is one component of MedPro’s total compensation and benefits package, which includes medical, vision and dental insurance options, life and accident insurance, 401(k), and short-term and long-term disability insurance.
