About Brainlyne Brainlyne supports students and families with international university applications and educational opportunities. We are building a team of tutors and advisors to support students through online group classes and individual guidance. Our work covers university orientation, admissions preparation, and application support across different tracks, including the US, UK, Europe, and other destinations. Areas we are hiring for Depending on your background and preferences, you may support one or more of the following: SAT and test preparation English and academic writing Essay brainstorming and feedback University orientation and admissions systems US, UK, and European application guidance University research and school-list building Activities, CVs, and personal profile development Interview and financial-aid preparation You do not need to cover every area. Assignments will be matched to your academic background, experience, strengths, and preferred areas of support. Responsibilities Online group classes Lead engaging online sessions for groups of students Teach topics such as SAT preparation, English, writing, and general university preparation Explain university admissions systems, timelines, and requirements Support students with practical exercises and clear next steps Individual student support Review each student’s personal Brainlyne folder and current progress Follow an individual plan based on the student’s goals, destination, and stage of preparation Support university lists, applications, essays, activities, CVs, interviews, and deadlines Give constructive written and verbal feedback Help students complete their own work without writing applications or essays for them Track progress, update notes, and communicate important concerns to the Brainlyne team Requirements Currently enrolled as a junior or senior, or an alumnus or recent graduate of a leading university Demonstrated experience in tutoring, teaching, mentoring, admissions advising, essay editing, writing support, or a related area Strong knowledge of at least one relevant subject or admissions track Strong written and spoken English Excellent communication, organization, and follow-up skills Comfortable teaching online and working with students independently Reliable, patient, and able to provide thoughtful feedback Candidates may come from universities such as Princeton, Harvard, Oxford, NYU, or other comparable institutions. However, university background alone is not enough. We are especially interested in candidates with practical experience supporting students. Important expectations Tutors and advisors must maintain professional boundaries. They should not write applications or essays on behalf of students, or guarantee admission, scholarships, visas, or test scores. This is a flexible, assignment-based role. Compensation is based on approved hours completed and documented, including group classes, individual sessions, preparation, and feedback.
