About Tamilux
Tamilux supplies complete commercial lighting packages for US general contractors, developers, and building owners.
We support projects from bid through approvals, value engineering, procurement, and phased deliveries. We are a small,
fast-moving team that treats lighting like a project—not just a product.
Role Summary
The Quotations Specialist will own the front-end quoting process for commercial lighting projects. You will review bid
packages, organize fixture schedules, coordinate vendor pricing, and produce accurate, timely quotations that help
clients win projects while protecting company margins.
Key Responsibilities
•
Review lighting bid packages, architectural/electrical drawings, specifications, and fixture schedules to identify
required materials.
•
Build accurate and organized Bills of Materials (BOM) for commercial lighting projects.
•
Request, track, compare, and organize pricing from vendors, manufacturers, and sales representatives.
•
Compare specified products with value-engineered alternatives when directed.
•
Prepare clear, professional quotations for general contractors, developers, and building owners.
•
Coordinate with the estimating lead and project management team for a smooth handoff on awarded projects.
•
Maintain accurate records of quotes, revisions, pricing assumptions, and supporting documentation.
•
Meet quotation turnaround targets, generally within 24–48 business hours depending on project scope.
Success in the First 90 Days
•
Process an agreed number of full bid packages each week with a high level of accuracy.
•
Deliver most quotation requests within 24–48 business hours, depending on scope.
•
Maintain near-zero pricing errors and minimize missed items.
•
Reduce the quoting workload of the owner and estimating lead by approximately 15–20 hours per week.
Required Qualifications
•
1–3+ years of experience in construction estimating, quantity takeoff, electrical estimating, quotations, or a related
technical role.
•
Ability to read and interpret architectural and electrical drawings, specifications, fixture schedules, and construction
documents.•
Strong Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets skills, with comfort working extensively with spreadsheets and
numerical data.
•
Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to pricing and quotation accuracy.
•
Strong written and spoken English with the ability to communicate clearly with US-based clients and team members.
•
Stable high-speed internet, a reliable home-office setup, and availability to work US Eastern Time business hours.
Preferred Qualifications
•
Experience with commercial lighting, electrical distribution, lighting controls, or related products.
•
Experience working with US general contractors, developers, electrical contractors, or commercial construction
projects.
•
Familiarity with Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Accubid, or similar estimating/takeoff software.
•
Experience with value engineering, vendor pricing, RFQs, BOMs, and commercial bid processes.
