Role Overview We're looking for an experienced US tax professional to join Visory on a part-time basis, delivering both tax filing and tax strategy work to our US customer base. You'll prepare and review returns while also advising clients on proactive, forward-looking tax planning – helping small and medium business owners keep more of what they earn, not just stay compliant. This is a flexible, part-time engagement suited to a practitioner who wants meaningful client work without the overhead of running their own book of business, and who's curious about working alongside an AI-powered platform that handles the repetitive parts of compliance so you can spend your time on judgment and client relationships. The Responsibilities Tax Filing & Compliance - Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for individuals and small businesses (1040, 1120/1120-S, 1065, and related schedules) - Ensure accuracy and completeness of working papers and supporting documentation ahead of filing - Stay current on IRS and state tax law changes and apply them correctly across client work Tax Strategy & Advisory - Identify tax-saving opportunities and proactive planning strategies for clients across entity structuring, deductions, credits, and timing of income/expenses - Advise clients on the tax implications of business decisions (entity election, compensation structuring, retirement planning, etc.) - Translate complex tax concepts into clear, actionable guidance for non-technical business owners Quality & Platform Collaboration - Review AI-assisted draft returns and workpapers for accuracy before client delivery, flagging errors or edge cases - Share practitioner feedback that helps improve Visory's AI-powered workflow platform over time - Maintain professional standards consistent with IRS Circular 230 and applicable state requirements Quality & Platform Collaboration - Review AI-assisted draft returns and workpapers for accuracy before client delivery, flagging errors or edge cases - Share practitioner feedback that helps improve Visory's AI-powered workflow platform over time - Maintain professional standards consistent with IRS Circular 230 and applicable state requirements Qualifications & Experience - CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) required - 3+ years of experience preparing US individual and business tax returns - Demonstrated experience in tax planning/advisory work, not just filing alone - Strong working knowledge of federal and multi-state tax rules - Comfortable working with cloud-based accounting and tax software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) - Excellent written and verbal communication skills for direct client interaction Nice to Have - Experience serving small business or professional services clients ($1M–$10M revenue range) - Prior remote or contract/fractional work experience - Curiosity about how AI is changing accounting and compliance work Our Culture & Values Visory team members embody the following qualities: Gritty, Humble, Optimistic, Curious.
