We started Born because we also believed there was a better way to run an agency: more open, more real, more collaborative and a lot less performative. We’re currently B&T’s Independent Agency of the Year.

About the role

We’re looking for a Freelance UI Designer to join us on a contract basis, with an immediate start. You’ll work closely with our UX, strategy and creative teams to turn thinking into clear, considered and beautifully crafted digital interfaces.

You’ll take established wireframes and requirements through to polished UI designs, building thoughtful components and systems that work across screens and are ready for development. We need someone who can get across a brief quickly, bring strong ideas to the table and take ownership of the design detail.

We’d love someone based in Sydney or Adelaide who can join us in person for briefings and key working sessions, but we’re open to the right person working remotely.

What we’re looking for

• Strong experience designing websites, especially e-commerce, with a portfolio that shows excellent UI craft.
• You know Figma like the back of your hand, including components, variants, auto layout, libraries and prototyping.
• The ability to create and work within scalable design systems.
• A solid understanding of UX principles, responsive design and accessibility.
• Excellent attention to typography, layout, interaction and the finer details that make an interface feel right.
• Confidence presenting your thinking, taking feedback and collaborating with developers and other disciplines.
• The ability to work independently, manage your time and deliver to deadlines.
