Short Intro and About the Job

Danone is seeking a UX (User Experience) Consumer & Sensory Scientist II to help drive the consumer and sensory strategy for our Shakes, Kids and Yogurt (SKY) portfolio, based in Louisville, CO.

The UX team, within Research & Innovation (R&I), pairs technical rigor with consumer empathy to design delicious, superior products, turning consumer and sensory insight into clear guidance for innovation, renovation and portfolio decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design integrated learning plans that connect business questions, consumer needs and product decisions across shakes, kids and yogurt.
  • Select and apply the right mix of quantitative and qualitative consumer research, sensory evaluation and behavioral-centered methods.
  • Lead product testing such as central location tests, consumer co-design, discrimination testing, descriptive or trained-panel research, and cross-functional tastings.
  • Lead the UX workstream on cross-functional project teams, from scoping and study design through analysis, recommendation and decision support.
  • Translate consumer, sensory and statistical data into focused implications for product design, claims, packaging, pipeline choices and to inform go/no-go decisions.
  • Provide clear recommendations when results are mixed or business trade-offs are required, explicitly connecting research evidence, business impact and proposed path forward.
  • Lead research plans for well-scoped projects with autonomy, and seek UX Director input on complex studies, strategic initiatives and high-risk decisions.
  • Contribute to improved UX ways of working, knowledge management and consistent application of best practices across SKY and the broader UX community.
  • Act as a trusted, consumer-centered partner to R&I and business teams, ensuring consumer and sensory evidence is embedded in decisions.
  • Engage and influence cross-functional peers on learning plans, testing choices and recommendations, balancing business urgency with research quality and decision risk.
  • Communicate findings through concise, compelling stories tailored to technical teams, brand partners and leadership audiences.

The salary range for this position is $85,000.00 – $100,000.00 USD. The exact salary offered will depend on several factors, including the candidate’s relevant experience, geographic location, internal equity, and market conditions. Danone USA additionally offers a performance-based bonus and has a strong benefits package including Medical, Dental, Vision, Prescription Drug Coverage, 401k Plan, Wellness Program, Life Insurance, Tuition Reimbursement, Flexible Time Off, and Paid Parental Bonding Leave, among other benefit plan options. To give our employees flexibility, Danone is a hybrid work environment.

This role is considered a “hybrid” position that allows for flexible work, meaning it is a role where collaboration with key stakeholders in Danone Hubs occurs. While you may have the option to work from home on a schedule as agreed to with your supervisor, you are also expected to regularly report to your assigned office location at least 3 days per week.

About You

  • Degree in Food Science, Sensory Science, Psychology, Market Research, Statistics, or closely related field preferred (Masters preferred) with 4+ years of experience in related industry.
  • Strong working knowledge of quantitative and qualitative consumer research, sensory methods, experimental design and statistics, with the judgment to match methods to the business decision.
  • Experience designing learning plans, managing external research suppliers, analyzing results and converting evidence into actionable business recommendations.
  • Ability to lead multiple projects independently in a fast-paced, matrixed environment while maintaining strong organization, follow-through and research quality.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional partners, facilitate product conversations and communicate difficult or ambiguous results clearly.
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills, including proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel; experience with statistical or consumer research software is beneficial.
  • Experience in dairy, cultured products, beverages, protein shakes and/or research with children or families is preferred, but not required.
