Job Description - UX Designer

Reports To: UX Lead

Department: Sales
Location: Remote

Position Type: Full-Time

Position Summary

As a UX Designer at AxisCare, you will design user workflows, UI, and detailed specifications for our priority solutions, working in close partnership with Product Managers, engineers, and QA to deliver high-value experiences for home care providers. You will use AI tools every day to speed up research synthesis, prototyping, and design production, so design keeps pace with engineering. We are looking for a designer who brings strong craft, treats AI fluency as part of that craft, and is eager to grow alongside a senior design team.

We are seeking candidates with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, including experience designing B2B or SaaS products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner Closely with Product and Engineering. Work directly with Product Managers and engineers to understand upcoming priorities, effort appetite, business context, and technical constraints. Help shape solutions from early discovery through delivery.
  • Conduct AI-Augmented User Research. Engage with internal stakeholders, customers, and users to uncover pain points and workflow needs. Use AI tools to synthesize findings, surface patterns, and turn insights into action.
  • Design End-to-End Workflows. Produce flow diagrams, wireframes, UI designs, and interactive prototypes, testing with internal and external customers. Use AI-assisted prototyping to move quickly from concept to something testable.
  • Write Clear Specifications. Deliver detailed specs to the development team that cover interaction logic, edge cases, and key technical considerations, so engineers have what they need to build with confidence.
  • Build Functional Prototypes. Use AI-powered development tools to create working prototypes that engineers can review and reference during build.
  • Stay Engaged with Engineering Through Delivery. Remain available throughout development to answer questions, resolve ambiguity, and adjust designs as needed to keep work moving and protect customer value.
  • Advocate for Users. Present research findings and design rationale to stakeholders, and adjust designs based on feedback, technical constraints, or new data.
  • Design for Accessibility and Real-World Use. Create experiences that work for office staff on desktop and caregivers on mobile in the field, with accessibility built in from the start.
  • Contribute to the Design System. Use and help maintain AxisCare’s design system and style guide across web and mobile to keep the product consistent as it grows.

What We're Looking For (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a UX design role, ideally within B2B, SaaS, or workflow-heavy product environments.
  • Hands-on use of AI tools in a design workflow for research synthesis, ideation, content, or prototyping, with eagerness to keep building these skills.
  • Proficiency with Figma and the broader modern design toolchain, including AI-integrated design and prototyping tools.
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and front-end fundamentals, enough to collaborate closely with engineers and use AI tools to build functional prototypes.
  • Proficiency in designing accessible user experiences, with working knowledge of WCAG standards.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a design-related field (HCI, Computer Science, or related discipline), or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience partnering with engineering teams, including comfort with Jira or equivalent tools.
  • A portfolio that shows your process, from problem and research through design decisions and outcomes.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Clear communication skills, with the ability to explain design decisions to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail.
  • Creative, curious, and comfortable working in a fast-moving environment.
  • Ability and desire to fully embrace AxsiCare’s guiding principles: driven for excellence, treat each other well, and embrace & champion growth.

Working Conditions

    • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
    • Utilization of software and email to perform job functions.

    Compensation and Benefits

    • Base salary plus commission (OTE TBD based on experience and skill level).
    • Medical insurance premiums are covered in full for the employee (Medical, Dental and Vision)
    • 401K with competitive company matching.
    • Personal time off, sick leave, and holidays.
    • Company will provide laptop and other needed computer equipment.

    About AxisCare
According to Pew Research, roughly 10,000 baby boomers turn 65 every day, and the American Society on Aging calculated that an American has a 70% chance of needing help with activities of daily living such as dressing, bathing, hygiene, etc. This has led to an unprecedented increase in Home Care agencies in the U.S. and abroad who strive to help those who have difficulty helping themselves, specifically offering non-medical (also referred to as non-skilled) services to seniors in their homes.

Our product is a web-based management platform that helps agencies manage CRM and marketing, Caregiver/Client scheduling, billing, payroll and much more. Headquartered in Waco, TX, AxisCare has clients in all 50 states as well as 7 other countries. We are a fast-growing company seeking high-performing individuals looking for a fast-paced, autonomous working environment.
