UX Designer III, ProServe – Strategic Partners

Introduction to the team

Expedia Group’s B2B design team creates innovative, relevant, and cohesive experiences across brands, devices, and platforms, partnering closely with product, account managers, content, research, integration team members, solution architects, and engineering to deliver high-quality traveler and partner experiences.

We’re looking for a UX Designer III to join the B2B Experience Design (XD) team in support of ProServe, our white-label template product that powers strategic partners’ travel experiences across multiple segments, with a variety of brand configurations and customizations layered on top of Expedia Group’s B2B platform. This role will be dedicated to one to two of our strategic ProServe partners — think airlines, financial institutions, and loyalty programs — and will span both the earliest, most exploratory stage of the partnership and the detailed work of shipping it.

You’ll spend part of your time painting a picture of what’s possible: pitch-ready concepts, mockups, and vision narratives that help a partner see a future state before it’s been built. You’ll spend the rest of your time turning that vision into real, shippable experiences — end-to-end flows, detailed specs, and a design that holds up to a high quality bar all the way through launch. Both halves matter equally in this role.

In this role, you will

  • Partner directly with product managers, account managers, integration team members, solution architects, and engineers to shape and deliver end-to-end experiences for your assigned strategic partner(s).
  • Create concept pitches, vision narratives, and high-fidelity mockups that help partners see and buy into a future state, drawing on agency-style storytelling and presentation craft.
  • Move fluidly between exploratory vision work and detailed design delivery — sketches, wireframes, flows, prototypes, and production-ready UI — without losing quality bar in either mode.
  • Present design work directly to partner stakeholders with confidence and polish, adapting the story for a partner audience versus an internal one.
  • Apply and extend design system patterns across our evolving B2B Design System (B2BDS) as well as EGDS, Expedia Group’s broader design system, where relevant, balancing platform consistency with partner-specific brand configurations and customizations.
  • Specify and quality-check implementation details — primary flows, states, edge cases, accessibility, and design system usage — and stay engaged through development hand-off and launch.
  • Collaborate across a broader cross-functional team, building trusted working relationships with product, account managers, content design, research, integration team members, solution architects, and engineering.
  • Use qualitative and quantitative insight, competitive context, and partner feedback to sharpen design direction and defend design decisions.

Experience and qualifications

  • A UX Designer III with strong end-to-end experience: comfortable framing a strategic vision as well as executing detailed, production-ready design delivery.
  • Design agency background, or equivalent experience pitching concepts and vision work directly to clients or partners.
  • A portfolio with high polish — strong visual and interaction design craft, and clear storytelling about the problem and the solution.
  • Confident and articulate presenting your own work to partner stakeholders, including in higher-stakes or executive settings.
  • Skilled at working across a full team — product managers, account managers, integration team members, content design, research, solution architects, and developers — without needing heavy direction.
  • Able to think through detailed interaction behavior, component usage, edge cases, and exceptions, not just high-level concepts — and produce developer hand-offs that are clear, complete, and easy to build from.
  • Expert in Figma and modern UX workflows for prototyping, collaboration, and design communication.
  • Experienced working within design systems and reusable components, and comfortable adapting them for partner-specific brand requirements.
  • Grounded in human-centered design and motivated by high-quality customer and partner experiences.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Graphic Design, Visual Communication Design, User Experience, or a related field is applicable.

Working model

  • Location: Chicago, IL.
  • This role is expected to work in person with the team at least 3 days per week.
  • This role is dedicated to ProServe strategic partner work and is not intended to rotate across unrelated workstreams.
The total cash range for this position in Chicago is $128,000.00 to $179,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $205,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
