Venture Operations & Growth Lead

Remote — Pakistan Based · Full-time · 1pm – 10pm UK time (one-hour break)

About The Ops Lab

The Ops Lab is a founder-led venture-building and startup advisory studio. We help ambitious people turn early ideas into real businesses, products and systems, from understanding the problem and validating demand to shaping the business model, developing the offer, launching an MVP and building the systems required to scale.

We are now entering our next stage of growth. Our ambition is to build The Ops Lab into a high-performing venture studio that:

  • Builds and launches its own startups, digital products and platforms.
  • Helps founders take ideas from concept to market.
  • Supports existing businesses with growth, product and operational challenges.
  • Develops repeatable systems for validating, launching and scaling ventures.

The role

As our Venture Operations & Growth Lead, you will sit at the centre of growth, execution and venture building. You will help grow The Ops Lab itself while supporting the development and launch of the ventures and products we build, our own and our clients.

This is not a traditional operations role, and it is not a position for someone who wants to wait for instructions. You will identify opportunities, create momentum, solve problems, challenge weak thinking and move important work forward at speed. One day you may be developing a growth campaign; the next, coordinating an MVP launch, improving a business model, building an operational system, or turning scattered founder ideas into a clear execution plan.

You must be equally comfortable thinking strategically and getting deeply into execution. We want someone commercially sharp, operationally disciplined and genuinely obsessed with building things that work.

1. Growth of The Ops Lab

You will not simply "post on social media". You are expected to understand how marketing connects to positioning, customer psychology, sales and revenue.

  • Identifying our strongest customer segments, offers and growth opportunities.
  • Developing campaigns that generate qualified leads and meaningful commercial conversations.
  • Managing growth across content, partnerships, referrals, outbound activity and selected paid channels.
  • Strengthening our positioning, messaging and conversion journey.
  • Turning ideas into measurable growth experiments and running them quickly.
  • Tracking leads, conversion rates, acquisition channels and commercial performance.
  • Building a consistent pipeline instead of relying on occasional opportunities.
  • Identifying why campaigns, offers or funnels underperform, and fixing them.
  • Supporting business development conversations and proposal development.
  • Building relationships with founders, partners, communities and potential collaborators.

2. Venture and product launches

Your job is not to make every idea sound impressive. Your job is to help determine which ideas deserve to be built — and then help build them properly.

  • Researching markets, customers, competitors and emerging opportunities.
  • Pressure-testing startup ideas before significant time or money is invested.
  • Helping define the problem, customer, value proposition, business model and route to market.
  • Designing practical validation experiments.
  • Coordinating landing pages, prototypes, MVPs and early product releases.
  • Developing launch plans and ensuring they are executed.
  • Gathering customer feedback and converting it into product or commercial decisions.
  • Tracking early traction, adoption and learning.
  • Identifying when an idea should be improved, repositioned, accelerated or stopped.
  • Working with designers, developers, researchers, marketers and external specialists.
  • Building repeatable venture-development processes so we launch faster over time.

3. Founder and client operations

You should be able to coach and challenge founders — not simply agree with everything they say.

  • Lead onboarding and establish clear expectations, milestones and responsibilities.
  • Understand the founder, the business, the market and the commercial objective.
  • Turn meetings and discussions into concrete actions, owners and deadlines.
  • Build practical execution plans and maintain momentum between sessions.
  • Follow up firmly and professionally when information or decisions are delayed.
  • Coordinate work between clients, consultants, researchers, writers, designers and developers.
  • Identify risks, gaps and inconsistencies before they become serious problems.
  • Challenge unclear assumptions and push founders towards evidence-based decisions.
  • Ensure clients receive honest, structured and commercially useful support.
  • Maintain exceptionally organised client records, project plans and communication.

4. Internal operations and execution

The objective is not to create unnecessary process. It is to build enough structure for a fast-moving company to execute consistently.

  • Translate company priorities into weekly plans, deliverables and measurable outcomes.
  • Build dashboards that show what is moving, what is blocked and what needs attention.
  • Create and improve SOPs, templates, playbooks and quality-control processes.
  • Introduce practical automations that reduce repetitive work.
  • Improve how projects, meetings, decisions and responsibilities are managed.
  • Ensure deadlines are taken seriously and commitments are followed through.
  • Coordinate multiple projects without losing attention to detail.
  • Remove operational bottlenecks before they slow down growth.
  • Protect the founder's time by taking genuine ownership of execution.

The standard we expect

We operate with urgency. That does not mean careless work or performative busyness. It means responding quickly, making sensible decisions with the available information, and refusing to let important projects drift.

  • Take ownership without waiting to be chased.
  • Move from discussion to execution quickly.
  • Ask intelligent questions when something is unclear.
  • Challenge ideas respectfully when the evidence does not support them.
  • Communicate problems early instead of hiding them.
  • Maintain high standards even when several priorities are moving at once.
  • Learn new tools, markets and business models rapidly.
  • Finish what you start.
  • Care deeply about outcomes — not simply activity.

Who we are looking for

You may come from growth, startup operations, venture building, product marketing, consulting, business development or another commercially focused environment. What matters most is evidence that you can think, build, execute and take ownership.

  • Strong experience in growth marketing, startup operations or commercial execution.
  • A practical understanding of customer acquisition, positioning, funnels, conversion and retention.
  • Experience launching or growing a startup, product, service or new business initiative.
  • Excellent project-management and operational skills.
  • Strong commercial judgement and the ability to prioritise high-impact work.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • The confidence to lead meetings and challenge founders professionally.
  • The ability to turn unstructured information into clear plans and decisions.
  • Strong research and analytical abilities.
  • Confidence with CRMs, project-management systems, spreadsheets, analytics platforms and AI tools.
  • The ability to coordinate people with different skills and working styles.
  • Comfort working independently in a high-speed remote environment.
  • A strong bias towards action, experimentation and measurable results.

Experience working with startup founders, professional-services companies, digital products or early-stage ventures would be highly valuable. A degree is welcome, but evidence of exceptional execution matters more.

What you will get

Bring the idea. Build the system. Create momentum.

  • The opportunity to help shape a company at an important stage of its growth.
  • Direct exposure to multiple startups, industries, products and business models.
  • Real ownership — not a role limited to completing assigned tasks.
  • The opportunity to launch ventures and products from the ground up.
  • Close collaboration with the founder and senior decision-makers.
  • Rapid professional development across growth, operations, strategy and venture building.
  • The chance to grow into a senior leadership position as the studio expands.
  • A culture that values honest thinking, high standards, experimentation and speed.
