About the Company
Redesign Health is a global venture and applied technology firm focused on building next-generation healthcare companies. We manage venture capital and venture buyout strategies, each powered by an AI operating system and team of leading technologists, entrepreneurs, and investors.
Our venture capital strategy backs exceptional founders at the earliest stage, often before an idea is fully formed, often providing the first institutional capital and an unmatched degree of strategic healthcare-specific leverage through exit. Our venture buyout strategy partners with proven management teams at existing incumbents via control investments and delivers outsized value by rewiring core products and workflows with AI.
Since inception in 2018, Redesign and our portfolio companies have touched the lives of more than 15 million patients, raised over $1.5 billion from premier institutional, sovereign, and strategic investors, and built distinctive partnerships with marquee healthcare organizations around the world.
Redesign is based in New York and has offices in Bengaluru, Los Angeles, and Riyadh.
About the Role
Redesign Health is hiring a Venture Scout Fund Lead to build and run a dedicated scout investment program for exceptional healthcare AI founders. Operating with the autonomy of a solo GP within Redesign, you will shape its strategy, lead its scouts, and oversee early investments.
You will recruit and empower scouts in the communities where promising founders emerge, deploy small checks within agreed guardrails, and manage a portfolio that positions Redesign’s main fund to invest as companies develop. Success means bringing exceptional founders and opportunities into Redesign through a trusted, distributed network.
Beyond the scout fund, you will personally develop Redesign’s presence across the wider healthcare AI founder ecosystem. Build trusted relationships with founders, operators, angels, and community leaders so strong opportunities reach Redesign even when the scout fund is not the right entry point.
We’re looking for a natural community builder with strong founder and investment judgment who wants to own a fund from the ground up. You build networks of networks, earn trust before founders raise capital, and use AI tools and data to extend your reach.
What You’ll Do
Scout Fund Leadership - Shape, launch, and run a dedicated scout investment vehicle with meaningful day-to-day autonomy. Work with the investment team to set the strategy, investment guardrails, scout allocations, and portfolio approach, then oversee small early checks and track the companies we back. Identify the strongest opportunities for Redesign’s main fund to support in later rounds.
Scout Network Building & Development - Recruit, develop, and lead a distributed group of scouts across campuses, cities, and founder communities. Give them the judgment, context, and authority to make small investments within the program’s guardrails, and help them build trusted local networks. Set a high bar for scout selection, support their development, and hold the network accountable for the quality of its investments and founder relationships.
Founder & Ecosystem Development - Build a dense, trusted network across founders, angels, venture funds, operators, and entrepreneurial communities. Develop a real presence in the places where exceptional healthcare AI founders emerge, including communities that Redesign does not yet reach. Track emerging talent and bring those insights back to the investment team.
Active Founder Sourcing - Source high-potential founders from pre-idea exploration through pre-seed companies. Combine active engagement across operator networks, universities, accelerators, events, dinners, and digital communities with disciplined desk sourcing. Maintain a high-quality pipeline and create warm introductions to the investment team when there is a strong fit.
Enhance & Maintain Our Founder Bar - Develop a clear view of what exceptional founders look like, including talent that may not fit obvious patterns. Screen opportunities against Redesign’s founder bar, share the signals behind your judgment, and keep refining how you and the scouts identify and engage promising founders.
AI-Native Sourcing & Evaluation Systems - Build and continuously refine an AI-enabled sourcing system. Use data signals, network mapping, market monitoring, and workflow automation to identify founder targets, prioritize outreach, track scout activity, and improve the quality and reach of the pipeline.
What You’ll Need
Background
5–7 years of experience in venture capital, early-stage investing, startups, or a related field.
Experience sourcing founders, building entrepreneurial communities, or recruiting and developing scout or investment networks is strongly preferred.
Core Competencies
Team Leadership and Recruiting: You can recruit high-potential scouts, help them develop their networks and judgment, and maintain a consistent bar across a distributed team.
Network Density: You have an established network and know how to build real relationships within institutions across founders, community groups, angels, microfunds, operators, and investors.
Founder Judgment: You can recognize exceptional people early, including those who may not fit obvious or over-credentialed patterns.
Sourcing Drive: You are energized by the hunt. You create opportunities through consistent engagement in founder communities rather than waiting for them to come to you.
Process Management: You can manage a direct and scout-driven pipeline with timely follow-ups, clear prioritization, strong CRM hygiene, and thoughtful portfolio tracking.
Systems Thinking: You diagnose gaps in ecosystem coverage and design ways for Redesign and its scouts to build sustained relationships across the right communities.
Behavioral Skills
Self-Starter: You work independently, take ownership of your responsibilities, and improve your workflows without waiting to be asked.
Relationships Over Transactions: You earn trust by creating value for founders and partners, and you sustain relationships beyond any immediate deal.
Entrepreneurial: You are resourceful and comfortable building from ambiguity. You treat the sourcing engine as a product to improve.
Founder-First: You communicate with empathy and credibility. Founders feel understood and respected.
Technology Innovator: You fully leverage AI and emerging tools to improve your productivity and the team’s reach.
How We Work:
Our company values are the standards and norms that shape how we make decisions, build teams, serve patients, and partner with one another. They define what you can expect from us and what we expect from every person who joins our team. We share them openly so candidates can decide whether this way of working will bring out their best.
Patients are waiting: Work with the urgency that patients deserve.
AI sets the floor: Nothing short of what AI in expert hands can deliver; taste and judgment own the last mile.
Stack the team: Talent density is our greatest asset; raise the bar with every hire.
