Veterinary Callback & Preventive Care Team Member
Animal Medical Center of Hattiesburg
Full-Time | Veterinary Experience Required
Full-Time | Veterinary Experience Required
Animal Medical Center of Hattiesburg is seeking an experienced veterinary professional to join our team as a Veterinary Callback & Preventive Care Team Member.
This is not simply a position for making reminder calls. This team member plays an important role in helping our patients receive the preventive care, follow-up care, medications, diagnostics, and services their veterinarian has recommended.
If you have veterinary experience, enjoy communicating with pet owners, and are motivated by turning overdue recommendations into completed patient care, this may be a great fit for you.
About the Position
- The Veterinary Callback & Preventive Care Team Member works behind the scenes to identify patients who are due or overdue for veterinary care and personally connects with their owners.
- You will help clients understand what their pet needs, why it matters, and what the next step should be.
Responsibilities may include:
- Contacting clients whose pets are due or overdue for vaccines, examinations, diagnostics, preventives, or other recommended services
- Following up on veterinarian-recommended services that have not yet been completed
- Helping clients schedule needed appointments
- Reviewing patient records and preventive care reminders
- Identifying gaps in patient care
- Following up with clients after appropriate visits, procedures, or recommendations
- Educating clients about the importance of preventive care
- Communicating clearly and professionally by phone, text, or other approved communication methods
- Documenting client communication accurately in the medical record
- Updating reminders and patient information appropriately
- Working with veterinarians, technicians, and Client Relations to coordinate patient care
- Helping improve compliance with veterinarian recommendations
- Maintaining organized callback lists and following through until appropriate resolution
- Providing excellent customer service during every client interaction
What We're Looking For
Previous veterinary experience is required for this position.
Because this role involves reviewing medical records and discussing veterinary recommendations with clients, candidates must already have a working understanding of veterinary terminology, preventive care, vaccines, parasite prevention, common diagnostics, medications, and veterinary hospital workflow.

- Knowledgeable about routine canine and feline preventive care
- Confident speaking with clients on the phone

- Highly organized and able to manage a large callback list

- Persistent without being pushy
- Able to handle client questions, concerns, and occasional rejection professionally
