What will you be doing?
As Vice President of Client Sales and Insights, you will serve in a high-profile leadership role within Circana and the client's organization. You will create impactful, insight-driven solutions for one of the world’s leading consumer packaged goods innovators, known for iconic products and highly visible marketing campaigns. In this position, you will lead a high-performance team in developing and deploying Circana’s tools and data capabilities to address a broad spectrum of the client’s critical business issues — including new product launches, line extensions, trade spending, pricing optimization, and retail execution as well as help identify opportunities for growth across their base business.
You will escort the client through processes necessary to ensure their continued business success while operating as a passionate advocate for the client in advancing solutions that build long-term partnership value. You will communicate and implement organizational strategies and business objectives while advancing team performance, ensuring operational compliance, overseeing department budgets, and leading the end-to-end sales cycle in service of the account’s growth. While exceeding revenue targets is important, success is equally measured by the ability to create indispensable, solution-focused consultative partnerships grounded in actionable insights.
Job Responsibilities
- Drive Client Growth: Identify and pursue opportunities to expand client relationships by aligning Circana’s data and software solutions with their strategic goals.
- Deliver Insight-Led Solutions: Translate complex data into actionable insights that help clients make informed decisions and achieve measurable outcomes.
- Manage the Sales Cycle: Lead end-to-end sales processes including prospecting, needs assessment, solution development, negotiation, and closing.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with internal teams (e.g., Client Insights, Product, and Analytics) to deliver integrated solutions and ensure client success.
- Maintain Industry Expertise: Stay current on trends in [retail, CPG, or general merchandise] to position Circana as a thought leader and trusted advisor.
- Build Strategic Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across client organizations, including decision-makers and influencers.
- Utilize Sales Tools and Platforms: Leverage Circana’s proprietary platforms (e.g., Unify+, Liquid Data, Intelligence Suite) to support client engagements and solution delivery.
- Achieve Revenue Targets: Meet or exceed individual and team sales goals through disciplined pipeline management and strategic account planning.
- Champion Client Success: Ensure client satisfaction by proactively addressing challenges, identifying growth opportunities, and delivering consistent value.
- Support Innovation and Feedback: Provide market feedback to internal teams to help refine offerings and contribute to product development.
- Advanced Analytic Skills: Demonstrated ability to conceive, manage, and deliver fact-based analyses, with a focus on consumer solutions, providing clients with clear, actionable insights to inform strategy.
Requirements
- 12–15+ years of progressive business experience with a strong understanding of consumer packaged goods (CPG) and retail dynamics, including manufacturer/retailer, professional services, or consulting environments.
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree in business, marketing, analytics, or related field preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute client relationship strategies; architect and present business proposals leveraging cross-functional teams of service line experts, aligned to retailer-specific business needs.
- Proven track record driving C-level engagements across the full spectrum of CPG core issues (brand development, category management, marketing, new product launches, trade spending, pricing, retail execution).
- Proficiency with Circana’s data platforms (Unify+, Liquid Data, Intelligence Suite, Strategic Analytics modules) and demonstrated ability to translate complex analytics into actionable client recommendations.
- Proven experience in general management and P&L ownership; track record of exponential revenue and profit growth through the achievement of short- and long-term objectives.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and leverage innovative solutions to drive revenue growth and account expansion.
- Impactful executive presence and proven ability to engage at the C-suite level; ability to maintain both manufacturer and retailer perspectives simultaneously, and to think through multiple divergent paths and their implications for the client and Circana.
- Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams in complex, matrixed environments, including direct reports and cross-functional project teams; ability to translate stakeholder vision into actionable solutions.
- Able to quickly assess complex client issues and identify root causality versus symptoms; convey technical content and data analytics to all audiences in compelling ways.

Location
This position is based in Oakland, CA or the Bay Area, US. (on-site approximately 2-3 days a week)
The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. The salary range for this role is $150,000 - $215,000 USD.
This job is also eligible for bonus pay.
