Description

The Vice President of Digital Banking is responsible for leading CU SoCal’s Digital Banking function and translating organizational strategy into an effective department strategic plan, operating model, product roadmap, execution structure, and measurable business results. This role owns the direction and performance of Online Banking, Mobile Banking, digital Member onboarding and deposit account-opening experiences, applicable assisted account-opening experiences, and the Member-facing and team member-assisted front-end consumer-loan application experience. The VP provides strategic, product, technology, operational, vendor, financial, and people leadership to deliver simple, reliable, and exceptional Member and team member experiences while achieving established business and organizational goals.

Business Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00AM – 5:30PM*

*Based upon business needs, our positions may require working flexible hours.


This position is based in Anaheim Hills CA with the opportunity to work on a hybrid-remote schedule which consists of 2 days in-office and 3 days working remote from home.

Requirements


Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in digital banking, financial-services technology, digital product management, fintech, digital origination, financial-services operations, or a related discipline.
  • Five (5) years of formal leadership experience, including responsibility for people leadership, performance management, strategy execution, resource allocation, and talent development. Experience leading leaders, multidisciplinary teams, or multiple functional areas strongly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Systems, Technology, Digital Product Management, or a related discipline.

Skills and Abilities

  • Experience owning or significantly influencing Online Banking, Mobile Banking, digital account opening, deposit origination, consumer-loan application technology, or comparable digital financial-services products.
  • Experience leading major technology implementations, platform conversions, integrations, digital transformations, or significant product initiatives.
  • Experience evaluating and managing third-party technology vendors and supporting major vendor, platform, or investment decisions.
  • Experience establishing and managing department goals, KPIs, performance scorecards, roadmaps, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Experience managing budgets, staffing, organizational resources, and competing business priorities.
  • Credit union, banking, fintech, or other regulated financial-services experience strongly preferred.
  • Proficient in all applicable MS Office programs (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.)



Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and execute the Digital Banking strategic plan, operating model, roadmap, priorities, and initiatives in alignment with CU SoCal’s organizational strategy and Member experience objectives.
  • Own the business direction, performance, and continuous improvement of Online Banking, Mobile Banking, digital servicing, Member onboarding, deposit account opening, and other assigned Digital Banking products and experiences.
  • Lead the business direction and experience for Member-facing and team member-assisted consumer-loan applications while partnering with Consumer Lending on underwriting, processing, credit decisioning, and fulfillment responsibilities.
  • Establish and achieve department goals and KPIs, monitor Digital Banking performance, and use data, Member feedback, operational results, and market insights to drive business decisions and measurable improvement.
  • Provide business leadership for Digital Banking technology and platforms, including identification of technology needs, vendor and solution evaluation, major enhancement prioritization, implementation direction, and ongoing platform optimization.
  • Lead major Digital Banking projects, implementations, integrations, and transformation initiatives, ensuring appropriate resources, requirements, cross-functional coordination, readiness, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain strong cross-functional partnerships to establish clear ownership, resolve competing priorities, remove barriers, and deliver effective Member and team member experiences across digital and assisted channels.
  • Ensure Digital Banking products, platforms, processes, releases, and operations appropriately support quality, reliability, resiliency, security, compliance, risk-management, and audit expectations in partnership with applicable subject matter experts.
  • Manage department budget, vendor expenses, staffing, capacity, and other resources; identify future organizational and capability needs; and recommend investments or structural changes supported by business need and performance data.
  • Lead and develop assigned department leaders and team members by establishing expectations, providing feedback and coaching, evaluating performance, addressing performance gaps, supporting talent development and succession, and maintaining accountability for results.
  • Complete understanding and active application the C.A.R.E. 4 Guide expectations and the Brand Communications Standards Accountability Philosophy.
  • Demonstrates leadership behaviors consistent with the organization’s Servant Leadership Competency Model (SLCM) and is accountable for fostering a culture of engagement, accountability, collaboration, and team member development through day-to-day leadership practices.
  • Must be able and available to work a “hybrid” schedule, per business operations requirement, as needed.

We support Pay Transparency and are a pay-for-performance organization that benchmarks base pay to the 50th percentile of market data.


Pay Scale Min. $141,174.00 / Mid. $188,477.64 / Max. $230,134.32

*Actual compensation will be based on geographical location, work experience, education and/or skill level.
