Vice President, National Accounts

The VP, National Accounts is responsible for growing net revenue and retention across a portfolio of national commercial insurance carrier accounts through strategic account planning, renewal ownership, and expansion into new service lines. This executive-level role serves as the primary relationship owner for key carrier partners, driving long-term account growth, strengthening executive relationships, and ensuring exceptional client outcomes.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise within the commercial insurance industry, a proven track record of expanding enterprise accounts, and the ability to influence senior decision-makers across both client and internal organizations. This individual will partner closely with Business Development, Operations, Legal, Finance, and Executive Leadership to maximize client value, identify growth opportunities, and mitigate retention risk across a strategic portfolio.
In This Role, You Will:
- Own revenue growth, retention, and expansion across a portfolio of $5M+ commercial insurance carrier accounts
- Build and execute documented account plans (quarterly reviews) covering growth targets, white space, and renewal risk
- Own renewal and retention: track MSA/contract terms, flag churn risk early, lead renewal negotiations
- Maintain live stakeholder maps per account, expand relationships beyond initial buyer to procurement, risk, ops, and executive sponsors
- Negotiate and manage multi-year MSA/enterprise contract structures, partnering with Legal
- Identify and close white space: services/lines not yet purchased within existing accounts, and net new accounts to open and grow through similar approach
- Run voice-of-customer loop: structured client feedback feeding into delivery and product
- Establish executive sponsorship: pair YA leadership (CEO/Presidents) with client executives on strategic accounts
- Set delivery KPIs/SLAs with Ops; own reporting on account health and forecast accuracy
- Serve as escalation POC; drive internal change to resolve systemic issues
- Lead cross-functionally across Business Development, Operations/Delivery, Legal, and Finance
What You Bring:
- 10+ years selling/managing $5M+ national or key accounts in commercial insurance carriers
- Track record of measurable revenue growth and retention on an existing enterprise book
- Experience negotiating and managing multi-year MSA/enterprise contracts
- Established network across major commercial insurance carriers
- Comfort operating at executive level (CEO/President/C-suite) on both sides of the table
- CRM proficiency (Salesforce or equivalent)
