About Panoramic Science

Panoramic Science is the clinical research division of Panoramic Health, a physician-led healthcare organization committed to advancing patient care through innovative clinical research. Our growing, multi-site research network partners with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and contract research organizations (CROs) to conduct industry-sponsored clinical trials and advance treatments across cardiovascular, renal, and metabolic (CVRM) therapeutic areas.

We are building a high-performing, scalable clinical research network focused on strong site execution, strategic industry partnerships, and data-driven growth.

Position Overview

Panoramic Science is seeking a strategic, commercially driven Vice President of Business Development, Clinical Research to lead enterprise-wide commercial strategy and accelerate growth across our multi-site clinical research network.

As a member of the Panoramic Science leadership team, the Vice President will own the commercial vision and be accountable for network-wide study awards, bookings, revenue growth, and long-term enterprise value. This executive will lead the development of strategic sponsor and CRO partnerships, expand portfolio-level relationships, and build a high-performing business development function that drives sustainable growth across the network.

The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in clinical research business development, established executive-level relationships across biopharmaceutical companies and CROs, and a demonstrated ability to translate commercial strategy into measurable financial results. This leader will also bring a rigorous, data-driven approach to pipeline management, forecasting, performance optimization, and executive reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Commercial Strategy & Growth

  • Develop and own the multi-year commercial strategy and annual growth plan for the clinical research network, aligned with organizational priorities and long-term value creation.
  • Drive accountability for network-wide bookings, study awards, and revenue growth, including repeat business and strategic partnerships across all sites.
  • Establish commercial priorities across sponsors, CROs, therapeutic areas, and clinical trial programs based on revenue potential, strategic alignment, and operational feasibility.
  • Identify new market opportunities, therapeutic areas, and capabilities that support network expansion and long-term commercial growth.
  • Partner with the President and executive leadership team on budgeting, forecasting, resource allocation, and long-range business planning.

Strategic Partnerships & Market Positioning

  • Own senior executive relationships with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and CRO partners, serving as the network's primary commercial representative.
  • Originate, negotiate, and secure portfolio-level partnerships, preferred site network relationships, and multi-study awards.
  • Strengthen sponsor and CRO engagement to increase study opportunities, improve award conversion, and establish Panoramic Science as a trusted, high-performing research partner.
  • Define and communicate the network's commercial value proposition, leveraging performance data, site capabilities, patient populations, and operational outcomes to differentiate the organization in the marketplace.
  • Represent Panoramic Science in executive sponsor meetings, scientific conferences, and industry forums to expand visibility and strengthen strategic relationships.

Commercial Operations, Analytics & Performance

  • Establish and oversee the business development operating model, including CRM infrastructure, standardized processes, pipeline management, and commercial performance reporting.
  • Drive enterprise-wide adoption of CRM tools, such as Salesforce, to improve visibility into sponsor engagement, study opportunities, award outcomes, and revenue forecasts.
  • Define and own key business development performance indicators, including pipeline value, win rates, sales cycle times, sponsor concentration, bookings, and revenue forecasts.
  • Use quantitative analysis and market intelligence to optimize sponsor targeting, commercial resource allocation, conversion rates, and overall business development effectiveness.
  • Deliver executive- and board-level reporting that communicates commercial performance, growth trends, risks, and opportunities to support strategic and investment decisions.

Executive Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Serve as a key member of the Panoramic Science leadership team, ensuring commercial priorities align with organizational strategy and operational capabilities.
  • Partner with senior leaders across operations, feasibility, finance, regulatory affairs, and site leadership to align study opportunities with site capacity, capabilities, and execution readiness.
  • Translate sponsor and CRO feedback, competitive intelligence, and market trends into actionable operational improvements and strategic investment priorities.
  • Establish standardized business development processes, tools, templates, and playbooks that promote consistency, accountability, and scalability across the network.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration to improve study award conversion, strengthen sponsor satisfaction, and support long-term partnership growth.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing business development team aligned with enterprise growth objectives.
  • Establish clear performance expectations, goals, and accountability measures while coaching team members to improve commercial effectiveness.
  • Develop a culture of disciplined pipeline management, data-driven decision-making, relationship development, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure business development resources are deployed effectively against the network's highest-value commercial opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in clinical research business development, including leadership of commercial strategy within a multi-site research network, academic research organization, or comparable life sciences business.
  • Demonstrated success building and leading business development or commercial teams and contributing to senior-level organizational strategy.
  • Proven track record of owning bookings and revenue targets and driving study awards, portfolio-level partnerships, and sustained revenue growth.
  • Established executive-level relationships with biopharmaceutical companies, pharmaceutical sponsors, and CROs.
  • Deep familiarity with cardiovascular, renal, and metabolic (CVRM) clinical trials and sponsor/CRO decision-making dynamics.
  • Strong expertise in CRM platforms, such as Salesforce, including pipeline management, forecasting, analytics, and performance reporting.
