Position Overview


The Vice President of M&A & Strategic Finance is the senior leader responsible for driving Empower Aesthetics’ inorganic growth strategy, including deal sourcing, underwriting, diligence, execution, and post-close financial accountability. Approximately 75% of the role focuses on M&A strategy, deal execution, and acquisition underwriting, while 25% focuses on FP&A, forecasting, and strategic financial leadership.


This role partners closely with the CEO, CFO, the Leadership Team, Shore Capital, and the Board of Directors. The VP owns the financial models behind acquisitions, de novo expansion, and major growth investments, ensuring disciplined capital allocation and measurable EBITDA outcomes.


Core Functions

M&A Strategy & Execution (˜50%)

  • Lead the full M&A lifecycle: sourcing, outreach, pipeline management, valuation, LOI negotiation, diligence, and closing.
  • Build and maintain a proactive pipeline of target practices through direct outreach, broker relationships, and industry networks.
  • Develop Empower’s M&A scorecard to prioritize targets and accelerate decision-making.
  • Prepare investment memoranda for Empower leadership, Shore Capital, and the Board.
  • Coordinate internal and external diligence teams across financial, operational, clinical, and legal workstreams.
  • Partner with sellers, attorneys, and advisors to finalize purchase agreements and manage closing processes.
  • Ensure seamless post-close integration handoffs to the Operations Team, People Team, and Finance.

Acquisition Underwriting & Valuation (˜25%)

  • Build and own acquisition models including valuation, deal structure, return analysis, and scenario modeling.
  • Conduct market sizing, unit economics, payback analysis, and sensitivity modeling.
  • Track post-close performance against underwriting cases and escalate risks early.
  • Report pipeline status, findings, risks, and recommendations directly to the CEO, CFO, and Leadership Team, as well as the Board.

FP&A & Strategic Finance (˜25%)

  • Build financial models for de novo expansion and major organic growth initiatives.
  • Drive accountability for EBITDA outcomes across marketing, operations, and clinical teams.
  • Partner with marketing to evaluate LTV/CAC, campaign ROI, and pipeline attribution.
  • Support monthly management models, rolling forecasts, and growth-related assumptions.
  • Prepare board-level materials including growth narratives, investment prioritization, and performance updates.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or CFA preferred.
  • 7–12 years of experience in Corporate Development, Strategic Finance, Investment Banking, or Private Equity.
  • Proven track record sourcing, executing, and closing acquisitions, ideally in multi-site healthcare.
  • Advanced financial modeling skills; ability to challenge assumptions and drive data-based decisions.
  • Experience in PE-backed, multi-location healthcare strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional communication skills; able to translate financial insights into operational action.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Healthcare services experience strongly preferred.
  • Comfort with regression or data-driven qualification logic.
  • Experience working with or within a private equity–backed, multi-location platform.

Travel Requirements:

Available for periodic travel to partner practices, target practices for diligence and seller meetings, and company events (20-30%).
