Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Sales, you'll lead a team of Regional Sales Directors and Account Executives and set the strategy, standards, and culture for how we grow. This is a national leadership platform with the autonomy to build a sales organization that reflects your own leadership philosophy — and the mission-driven purpose to make it matter.
Essential Responsibilities/Duties:
1. Revenue Growth & Market Expansion
- Own bookings, recurring revenue growth, renewals, and pipeline performance across the Public Safety business.
- Build and execute multi-year growth strategies that expand SoundThinking's footprint across federal, state, local, and adjacent government markets.
- Drive predictable performance through disciplined forecasting and a consistent operating cadence.
2. Go-to-Market Strategy & Sales Excellence
- Define and execute the sales strategy for our Public Safety solution set.
- Maintain our disciplined sales methodology (e.g., MEDDPICC) across every territory.
- Partner with Sales Operations to strengthen territory design, account planning, and pipeline health.
3. Public Safety Customer Engagement & Industry Leadership
- Serve as a trusted senior advisor for SoundThinking with chiefs, sheriffs, commissioners, and city and county leaders.
- Sponsor the company's most strategic opportunities and executive-level customer relationships.
- Represent SoundThinking at industry conferences, associations, and public safety forums.
4. Ecosystem Selling & Platform Adoption
- Lead the shift from single-product selling to full SafetySmart™ platform adoption.
- Grow multi-solution engagement across ShotSpotter, CrimeTracer, PlateRanger, SafePointe, and future offerings.
- Help agencies build long-term technology roadmaps that connect detection, investigation, and response.
5. Talent Development & Leadership
- Recruit, coach, and retain top sales talent, building a bench of future leaders.
- Create a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement, grounded in our values.
- Lead regular business reviews, deal inspections, and field coaching.
6. Cross-Functional Business Leadership
- Partner with Marketing, Product, Customer Success, Finance, and Operations to accelerate growth.
- Bring the voice of the customer into product and pricing strategy.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the executive leadership team on revenue strategy and market trends.
7. Innovation, AI & Future Readiness
- Champion adoption of AI-enabled tools and workflows across the sales organization.
- Stay ahead of emerging public safety technologies and translate them into customer value.
- Prepare the team to sell the next generation of the SafetySmart™ platform.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 15+ years of progressive sales leadership experience in enterprise SaaS, public sector technology, security technology, or public safety technology.
- 7+ years leading regional or national sales teams with meaningful revenue accountability.
- A track record of success selling into government, law enforcement, or public-sector environments, including complex, multi-stakeholder procurement cycles.
- Strong forecasting discipline, executive presence, and a genuine passion for the public safety mission.
- Preferred: public safety industry experience, knowledge of government procurement and funding cycles, and familiarity with AI-enabled, multi-product platform selling.
