Job Description
PTG is seeking a Vice President, ServiceNow Practice to lead the strategy, growth, commercial performance, and overall direction of our ServiceNow business.
PTG has established a growing ServiceNow practice with strong public sector experience, an expanding customer base, established sales and delivery capabilities, and significant opportunity for continued growth. As the practice enters its next stage, we are looking for an experienced ServiceNow leader who has successfully helped build and scale a consulting and services business and understands how to turn market opportunity into a focused, repeatable growth strategy. This is not simply a sales leadership position.
The Vice President will serve as the senior leader of the ServiceNow practice, bringing together Sales, Solution Consulting, and Operations & Delivery under a clear strategy and operating model. This leader will be responsible for determining where and how PTG competes, strengthening PTG's position within the ServiceNow ecosystem, building a scalable growth roadmap, developing the team and organizational structure as the practice grows, and ensuring commercial decisions translate into successful and profitable customer outcomes.
The right candidate will bring deep ServiceNow ecosystem experience, strong consulting and services business acumen, and the judgment that comes from having helped scale a ServiceNow business before. This individual should be equally comfortable setting long-term direction, coaching a team through a complex pursuit, challenging an investment decision, engaging ServiceNow leadership, and making the day-to-day decisions necessary to move a growing practice forward.
What You'll Own
Practice Strategy & Direction
- Own and develop the strategic roadmap for PTG's ServiceNow practice, establishing clear priorities for near-term execution and long-term growth.
- Determine where PTG should compete, how the practice should differentiate, and where the company should invest to drive sustainable growth.
- Evaluate opportunities across net-new business, install-base expansion, managed services, packaged offerings, new capabilities, partnerships, and other potential growth channels.
- Translate strategy into clear priorities so investment, hiring, sales activity, capability development, and go-to-market decisions support a common direction.
- Build the structure and operating discipline necessary to scale the practice without creating unnecessary complexity or bureaucracy.
- Continuously assess the practice's strengths, gaps, market position, and growth opportunities and adjust the roadmap accordingly.
- Develop business cases and recommendations for significant new offerings, investments, partnerships, and strategic initiatives.
Commercial & Growth Leadership
- Own the overall commercial performance of the ServiceNow practice, including revenue growth, pipeline, bookings, pricing strategy, deal economics, and profitable growth.
- Establish and lead the sales strategy for the practice.
- Own pipeline management, forecasting discipline, account strategy, territory and account alignment, and overall sales performance.
- Establish expectations, processes, and accountability across the sales organization while maintaining PTG's collaborative, discovery-led approach.
- Provide experienced guidance on deal structure, pricing, commercial models, and pursuit strategy.
- Serve as an executive leader on PTG's largest, most complex, or strategically important pursuits.
- Identify opportunities to turn successful customer engagements, capabilities, and solutions into repeatable growth motions.
- Open doors and leverage industry relationships where appropriate while enabling Account Executives to maintain day-to-day ownership of their accounts and opportunities.
- Assess the sales organization as the practice grows and recommend additional talent, roles, territories, or capabilities as needed.
ServiceNow Ecosystem & Market Leadership
- Strengthen PTG's position, visibility, and credibility within the ServiceNow ecosystem.
- Build and maintain senior relationships across relevant ServiceNow sales, public sector, partner, and regional leadership organizations.
- Develop a deliberate strategy for increasing ServiceNow awareness of PTG's capabilities and creating stronger co-sell and partner-led opportunities.
- Position PTG as a partner ServiceNow leaders and sellers trust and actively want to bring into customer opportunities.
- Ensure PTG is taking full advantage of applicable ServiceNow partner programs, competencies, designations, enablement opportunities, and market investments.
- Represent PTG credibly with ServiceNow executives, customers, partners, and other industry stakeholders.
- Maintain a strong understanding of changes within ServiceNow's market strategy, product direction, partner ecosystem, and competitive environment and translate those changes into action for PTG.
Practice Leadership & Operating Model
- Serve as the senior leader across the ServiceNow practice, aligning Sales, Solution Consulting, and Operations & Delivery around common priorities and outcomes.
- Establish clear roles, decision rights, accountability, and operating expectations across the practice.
- Provide decisive leadership and experienced guidance when teams need direction, particularly in complex pursuits, customer situations, investment decisions, and cross-functional issues.
- Create repeatable operating models for how the practice approaches sales pursuits, proposals, customer engagement, new offerings, strategic initiatives, and internal decision-making.
- Ensure the practice remains focused on agreed priorities rather than pursuing disconnected initiatives that do not support the broader strategy.
- Build an organizational structure that evolves appropriately as the business grows rather than adding layers ahead of demonstrated need.
- Develop leaders and team members while creating clear expectations for performance and accountability.
Sales, Solution Consulting & Delivery Alignment
- Lead the Account Executive, Solution Consulting, and Operations & Delivery leadership functions as an integrated practice.
- Preserve and strengthen collaboration between Sales and Solution Consulting while establishing clear accountability for each function.
- Ensure Delivery is engaged appropriately throughout the sales lifecycle so commitments are feasible, appropriately scoped, and aligned with execution capabilities.
- Partner closely with the Director of Operations & Delivery on capacity, capability, delivery risk, customer health, and execution readiness.
- Own final practice-level business decisions while ensuring material delivery risks and feasibility concerns are surfaced, understood, and appropriately addressed.
- Ensure commercial decisions consider scope, delivery requirements, staffing, margin, customer outcomes, and long-term account value—not simply revenue.
- Intervene when cross-functional issues require senior leadership, clear direction, or accountability.
Leadership & Decision Authority
The Vice President is expected to operate with significant autonomy and make day-to-day strategic, commercial, organizational, and operational decisions for the ServiceNow practice.
The role will partner with the COO / Executive Sponsor on significant matters including major changes to practice strategy, material investments outside established budgets, significant organizational expansion, executive-level hiring or termination decisions, acquisitions, and other decisions with broader PTG implications.
As the leader establishes a strong understanding of PTG's business, culture, customers, and financial model, the expectation is increased autonomy—not continued executive dependence for routine practice decisions.
Required Experience
- Significant leadership experience within the ServiceNow ecosystem, with a strong understanding of how ServiceNow's sales, partner, and services ecosystem operates.
- Demonstrated experience helping build, lead, or scale a ServiceNow consulting and professional services business.
- Proven experience leading sales teams and developing high-performing commercial organizations.
- Strong understanding of consulting and professional services economics, including pricing, margin, utilization implications, staffing considerations, and deal structure.
- Demonstrated experience developing and executing growth strategies rather than solely carrying an individual sales quota.
- Proven ability to lead complex enterprise pursuits and provide experienced guidance on deal strategy and commercial models.
- Established relationships and credibility within the ServiceNow ecosystem, with evidence of successfully converting ecosystem relationships into business opportunity and strategic alignment.
- Experience selling consulting and technology services to public sector customers or significant experience supporting organizations focused on public sector markets.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams that include Sales, Solution Consulting, and Delivery.
- Experience making organizational, investment, and go-to-market decisions in a growing business environment.
Preferred Experience
- Experience scaling a ServiceNow consulting/services practice through a comparable stage of growth.
- Experience working for a ServiceNow implementation partner, consulting organization, or within ServiceNow in a role with significant partner/services exposure.
- Experience developing managed services or other recurring services offerings.
- Experience building repeatable or packaged ServiceNow offerings.
- Experience with ServiceNow subscription/resale models.
- Experience working with public sector procurement vehicles and complex government buying processes.
Leadership Profile
We are looking for a leader who:
- Is decisive and comfortable making informed decisions with incomplete information.
- Has the confidence and experience to provide clear direction rather than escalating routine decisions upward.
- Can challenge Sales, Delivery, executives, and customers constructively when necessary.
- Is commercially minded without sacrificing delivery quality or customer outcomes.
- Thinks strategically but remains close enough to the business to understand what is actually happening.
- Brings structure and discipline without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.
- Communicates clearly, directly, and consistently.
- Coaches people to make better decisions rather than becoming the permanent decision-maker for every issue.
- Is comfortable operating in a candid, collaborative, fast-moving environment where healthy debate is expected.
- Knows when to move quickly, when to gather additional information, and when an opportunity does not align with the practice's strategy.
- Builds organizations intentionally as growth requires rather than assuming headcount is the answer to every problem.
What This Role Is Not
This is not an individual Account Executive role with an executive title.
It is not a role focused solely on carrying a personal quota, maintaining a book of business, or personally managing every customer opportunity.
It is also not a purely strategic position removed from day-to-day execution.
