Company Description
The Broken Vase is a creative production studio that works globally across film, documentary, and brand content. With over 14 years of experience, The Broken Vase believes that imperfections and history can become the most compelling parts of a story, and this core philosophy guides their approach to visual storytelling and production.
Role Description
This is a full-time remote role for a Video Editor at The Broken Vase. The Video Editor will assemble, edit, and refine video content for brand social media and advertisements, ensuring each piece aligns with the studio’s storytelling philosophy. Daily tasks include organizing and selecting footage, cutting and pacing reels and shorts, applying transitions, sound, and basic effects, and collaborating with directors and producers to achieve the desired narrative and emotional impact. The Video Editor will work closely with the creative team, participate in the monthly planning for each brand, engage in review and feedback cycles, and maintain consistent quality and deadlines across multiple projects. Based on performance, the video editor may be required to edit longer film and documentary projects as well.
Qualifications
- 2+ years experience in Video Editing, with experience managing footage and delivering polished final cuts.
- Fluent in industry-standard editing and post-production software Adobe Premiere Pro and/or DaVinci Resolve.
- Proficiency in basic colour and sound finishing, to achieve consistent visual tone and mood across projects.
- A real feel for narrative structure, pacing, and visual storytelling for branded content, and the ability to say plainly why a video worked or did not.
- You follow formats and trends across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts, and you bring them to us before they peak.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a remote environment.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, comfortable working with directors, producers, and other creatives across time zones.
- Prior experience in creative production studios or film/documentary environments is an advantage; relevant education in film, media, or a related field is beneficial but not required.
- Fluent in both Arabic and English.
