Video Editor & Colorist | Remote LATAM

Salary range: 1200 -1400 USD

Our studio is searching for a creative Video Editor to shape footage into polished stories for short‑ and long‑form projects. The role is suited for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced production environment, understands color theory and cinematography, and enjoys collaborating with directors and producers to achieve a cohesive look.

What you'll do

  • Select, organize and edit footage to build an engaging narrative. You’ll review scripts and raw material to create shot lists and assemble sequences with a clear story arc.
  • Trim clips and adjust pacing so the final edit flows smoothly. Your goal is to maintain rhythm while ensuring continuity and logical progression.
  • Perform color correction and grading to match the director’s visual style. You’ll help design the color palette for each project and use tools like DaVinci Resolve to achieve cinematic tones.
  • Insert music, dialogue, graphics, sound effects and motion graphics to enhance the story. You’ll also work closely with sound designers and animators to integrate all elements.
  • Collaborate with directors, producers and cinematographers to align the edit with the overall vision. This includes taking creative briefs, discussing style and mood, and revising cuts based on feedback.
  • Continuously explore new editing techniques and software features to improve quality and efficiency.

What we're looking for

  • Proven experience editing narrative or commercial projects, with a portfolio showing strong storytelling, tasteful cinematography and refined color grading.
  • Deep knowledge of non‑linear editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Avid Media Composer and After Effects. Familiarity with DaVinci Resolve or similar color‑grading tools is a plus.
  • Understanding of color theory, lighting and cinematography. You should be able to craft a consistent look that complements the director’s vision.
  • Artistic sensibility and attention to pacing, continuity and narrative flow.
  • Ability to collaborate with creative teams and accept feedback. Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude are essential.
  • Degree in film production, media or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Reliable internet connection and availability during U.S. business hours. Experience working remotely across time zones is a plus.

Compensation & Work Environment

  • Salary range: Competitive, commensurate with experience and the sophisticated eye we seek for this role. We’re willing to pay more for an exceptional candidate.
  • Location: Fully remote. Applicants can be based anywhere but must have strong command of written and spoken English.
  • Schedule: Full‑time (approximately 40 hours per week) with flexibility to accommodate deadlines and occasional weekend work.
  • Benefits: Paid time off and holidays aligned with local regulations. Additional benefits discussed during the interview.

Application Process

  • Submit your application with your reel and portfolio link. Highlight projects showcasing your editing, color grading and cinematography skills.
  • Our team will review your materials and reach out to candidates whose work aligns with our aesthetic. We may ask you to complete a short editing exercise.
  • Finalists will be invited to a virtual interview to discuss your experience and creative approach.
