Video Editor (Long-Form and Short-Form) | 3-Month Full-Time Contract, Starting 2 November

Vivyd Media is a production agency based in Dubai. We film real people doing real work for brands, coaches and athletes across fitness, combat sports, lifestyle and consumer products. Our team covers production, post-production, design and strategy, and we work to a fixed weekly publishing schedule for every client.

The role

We’re looking for an editor to join us on a 3-month full-time freelance contract starting Monday 2 November, cutting long-form YouTube videos and short-form cutdowns for fitness and talking-head channels. You’ll work from footage shot by our production team and take each video from first cut through to final delivery. The role is mainly remote, with occasional in-person working sessions with the team in Dubai. Deadlines matter here. Our clients publish on a set schedule, so every edit and every revision round has a date attached to it.

What you’ll do

• Edit long-form YouTube videos (talking head, coaching, training and interview formats), typically 10 to 20 minutes and sometimes longer, built to hold attention from the opening seconds to the end screen.
• Cut vertical short-form videos for Instagram Reels, TikTok and YouTube Shorts from the same footage.
• Build each edit with sound design, motion graphics, transitions and colour grading, all inside DaVinci Resolve.
• Own the revision stage: turn feedback around quickly, keep clear version notes and deliver final files on the agreed date.
• Work alongside our producers, camera operators and designers, sharing ideas on structure, hooks and pacing.
• Keep projects, timelines and media organised so anyone on the team can open your project and pick it up.

What you’ll need

• At least 2 years of editing experience in DaVinci Resolve, including the Edit, Color, Fusion and Fairlight pages.
• A portfolio showing at least 2 long-form YouTube edits of 10 minutes or longer and 3 short-form edits you cut yourself.
• Clear examples of editing for retention: strong cold opens, tight pacing, B-roll coverage, on-screen text and pattern interrupts.
• Colour grading experience, including matching footage from multiple cameras.
• A record of delivering to fixed deadlines, with a reference we can contact.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Nice to have

• Based in Dubai, so you can meet the team in person and join our occasional on-site working sessions.
• Experience editing fitness, sports or coaching content.
• Multicam interview or podcast editing.
• Comfort reading YouTube Studio retention graphs and using them to shape your next edit.
• Building reusable motion graphics templates in Fusion.
• Experience with Frame.io review links and Blackmagic Cloud collaborative projects.

Contract details

• Type: Full-time freelance contract, 3 months, starting Monday 2 November 2026
• Location: Mainly remote, with occasional in-person sessions in Dubai (if you're based in the UAE)
• Availability: Dedicated to Vivyd during UAE business hours, Monday to Friday
• Workload: 2 long-form YouTube videos (10 to 20 minutes) and 5 to 6 short-form videos per week across two fitness channels, ramping up over the first month
• Rate: AED 3,000 to 4,000 per month, depending on experience, invoiced monthly
• Visa and insurance are not provided. If you’re based in the UAE, you’ll need a valid right to work, such as a freelance permit.
• Strong performance leads to contract renewal, expanded scope and a higher rate.
