Video Peer Mentor - Student Worker

Position Description

The Video Peer Mentor produces engaging and high-quality content to support student success at National University. This position is primarily responsible for video production, utilizing a mix of creativity, strategic thinking, and technical skills. The Video Peer Mentor works independently and collaboratively and demonstrates the ability to work efficiently without compromising quality or accuracy.

Student employees are in part-time positions hired for short-term projects not to exceed one thousand (1,000) hours per year. Unless otherwise stated or as prescribed by law, National University does not provide student employees with benefits including accrued sick and vacation, health and life insurance, or other benefits. Student employee positions are available to the following.

• Students enrolled and attending courses
• Undergraduate and graduate students in any school or program
• Full-time or part-time students

Essential Functions:

• Create compelling and original video content.
• Responsible for review and editing video utilizing video editing software.
• Collaborate with team to establish project objectives, complete tasks, and identify and solve problems.
• Meet project deadlines in a timely manner.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Ability to work up to 25 hours per week with a varied schedule.
• Throughout their employment, candidates must earn at least a B- in every course for which they produce content.
• Students enrolled and attending courses.
• Undergraduate and graduate students in any school or program.
• Full-time or part-time students.

Technical / Functional Skills:

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with experience using Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to complete projects in a timely manner.
• Outstanding organizational skills.
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

Location: Remote, USA

Candidate receiving offers will be offered a salary/pay rate commensurate with experience that vary based on a candidate’s qualifications, skills, and competencies. Absent exceptional circumstances, candidates will be offered a salary within this range for this position. The minimum salary will be offered based on the minimum exemption threshold based on state of residency.
