Full-Time Fixed-Term

Commencing January 2027 to September 2027

Help deliver an exceptional VIP and stakeholder experience on the world stage.

The Netball World Cup Sydney 2027 is looking for an experienced and highly organised VIP Functions & Operations Lead to support the planning and delivery of our VIP, stakeholder, hospitality and protocol program.

Working closely with the Executive Officer, you will play a hands-on role in bringing together the people, logistics and operational detail behind official functions, VIP hospitality, stakeholder movements and guest experiences throughout the tournament.

Working across tournament functional areas, suppliers and stakeholders, you will help ensure VIP requirements are fully integrated into broader tournament operations and that we are ready to deliver when the tournament begins.

This is an exciting opportunity for an events professional who thrives on complex logistics, exceptional service and making sure every detail comes together when it matters most.

About The Role

You will support the planning and operational delivery of:

  • The NWC2027 VIP & Stakeholder Program
  • VIP protocol and guest services for official tournament guests
  • Congress Delegation
  • Tournament Hospitality Lounge operations
  • Official functions, receptions, ceremonies and stakeholder events
  • VIP arrival, access, hosting and movement arrangements

You will also coordinate the important operational details that create a seamless guest experience, including:

  • Invitations, RSVPs, registrations and guest communications
  • Guest lists, seating allocations and attendance tracking
  • Accessibility, dietary and special requirements
  • Catering, hospitality suppliers and service delivery
  • VIP accreditation, venue access and entry requirements
  • Airport, hotel, transport and venue movements
  • Dignitary, government and protocol requirements
  • Operational schedules, run sheets and briefing materials
  • Attendance forecasting, budget tracking and reporting
  • Recruitment, training, rostering and on-the-day coordination of VIP Operations volunteers
  • Additional ad hoc event project management support, as required and approved, throughout the tournament planning period.

About You

You are a calm, solutions-focused events professional who knows that exceptional experiences are built on exceptional planning. You will ideally bring:

  • 3–5 years’ experience in event coordination, hospitality, stakeholder management or major events
  • Experience coordinating VIP, hospitality, conference, stakeholder or guest programs
  • Strong event planning and operational delivery capability
  • Experience managing registrations, guest lists and complex event logistics
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and customer service skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • The professionalism and discretion required when working with VIPs, dignitaries and senior stakeholders
  • Confidence working across suppliers, contractors and internal operational teams
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and event management platforms
  • The ability to remain calm and solutions-focused in a fast-moving environment
  • Professionalism, discretion and sound judgement

Why join us?

This is your opportunity to be part of the team delivering one of international netball’s biggest events. You will work in a fast-paced major event environment, collaborate across multiple areas of tournament delivery and have the opportunity to see months of planning come to life as Sydney welcomes athletes, officials, stakeholders and guests from around the world.
