Job Title: Virtual Medical Receptionist
Location: Remote – Colombia or Costa Rica only
Type of Contract: Full-Time | Employer of Record (EOR)
Salary Range: $1,000–$1,300 USD/month (based on experience)
Language Requirements: Fluent Spanish + Professional/Fluent English
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:30 PM EST
Our client is seeking a bilingual Patient Services Representative with strong customer service experience and fluent English and Spanish skills to support their New Jersey clinics remotely. You will play a key role in handling patient calls, scheduling, managing digital documents, and maintaining accurate patient records. Your work will directly support clinic operations by reducing administrative workload for medical staff and ensuring patients receive timely, professional assistance.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer approximately 30 inbound patient calls per day and respond to general questions in a clear, patient-friendly manner.
- Schedule and coordinate patient appointments while maintaining accurate information.
- Look up patient records and navigate digital systems to locate relevant information.
- Receive documents through digital eFax and upload them accurately into the appropriate patient records/system.
- Support basic administrative tasks, follow-ups, and document management.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle patient information responsibly.
- Use VoIP, digital eFax, patient portals, and other clinic systems as required.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Fluent Spanish and professional/fluent English communication skills.
- 1–4 years of experience in customer service, virtual assistance, call center, or administrative support.
- Strong phone-based customer service and communication skills.
- Clear, empathetic, and patient-focused communication style.
- Comfortable learning and navigating digital tools and multiple systems.
- Ability to work consistently from 9:00 AM–5:30 PM EST.
- Basic understanding of confidentiality and appropriate handling of sensitive information.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience supporting healthcare organizations, clinics, or medical offices.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, patient records, EHR systems, or AthenaHealth.
- Experience handling high-volume inbound calls.
- Prior experience working with eFax, VoIP phone systems, or patient portals.
- Experience supporting elderly patients or other sensitive patient interactions.
- Previous remote work experience.
- HIPAA awareness or experience working in a regulated environment.
