Are you an inspirational education leader with the ambition and expertise to improve outcomes for some of Lancashire’s most vulnerable children and young people? Lancashire County Council is seeking an exceptional Head Teacher to provide strategic leadership for Lancashire Virtual School.

You will lead a skilled Virtual School team, set consistently high expectations and work across education, children’s social care and the wider partnership to remove barriers to learning, strengthen attendance and secure sustained improvements in attainment and progress.

You will provide strategic oversight of Personal Education Plans, Pupil Premium expenditure, service performance, budgets, commissioning, quality assurance and preparation for inspection. Using evidence and the voices of children and young people, you will influence senior leaders, schools, elected members and partners, ensuring that statutory duties are met and resources deliver meaningful impact.

We are looking for a qualified teacher with significant leadership and management experience, a strong record of raising educational standards and a detailed understanding of the needs of care-experienced and vulnerable learners. You will combine sound professional judgement with excellent analytical, communication and partnership skills, and be confident leading through complexity and change.

If you are a collaborative, supportive, innovative and respectful leader who believes every child should be supported to thrive in education, we would welcome your application. If you would like to discuss the role please email aby.hardy@lancashire.gov.uk
