In this role, you will be at the core of the company's virtualization and data center infrastructure . Your mission will include designing, deploying, and maintaining VMware environments, provisioning and presenting enterprise SAN storage to ESXi, and extending workloads into AWS through EC2 . You will help ensure the performance, stability, and availability of the systems the business runs on. What you'll do I nstall, configure, upgrade, and patch VMware ESXi and vCenter / vSphere Build and run clusters: HA, DRS, vMotion, Storage vMotion Manage storage virtualization in vSphere: VMFS and NFS datastores, datastore clusters / Storage DRS, thin vs thick provisioning, snapshots Design and maintain virtual networking: vSwitches and Distributed Switches, port groups, VLANs Handle the full VM lifecycle: templates, cloning, P2V/V2V migrations, performance troubleshooting Provision storage end-to-end for ESXi: create LUNs/volumes, host mapping, zoning/masking, present them as VMware datastores Do capacity planning, performance monitoring, and latency troubleshooting between ESXi and the array Deploy and manage EC2 instances: instance types, AMIs, key pairs, EBS volumes and snapshots Migrate or import workloads from VMware to AWS (AWS Application Migration Service, VM Import/Export) Document what you build, clearly enough that someone else can operate it What you need to bring VMware (core skill, strong level) Several years of hands-on work with ESXi and vCenter / vSphere in production Enterprise storage presented to VMware (required) Hands-on experience with IBM Storage (FlashSystem / Storwize / SVC), Dell Compellent, EMC VNXe, or comparable enterprise arrays Fibre Channel and iSCSI (ideally NFS as well), including multipathing (PSP / Round Robin) on ESXi AWS EC2 (required, working level) Basic AWS networking: VPC, subnets, security groups, Elastic IPs Basic IAM awareness and cost-conscious sizing Ways of working Able to work independently from design through deployment and troubleshooting Writes clear documentation Communicates well with both technical and non-technical audiences Nice to have Certifications: VMware VCP-DCV, AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or SysOps Administrator, IBM Storage certifications Array-side snapshots and replication, VAAI Backup tools for VMware: Veeam, Commvault, or similar Scripting and automation: PowerCLI, PowerShell, AWS CLI Windows Server and Linux administration Hybrid setups (on-prem VMware + AWS) or VMware Cloud on AWS Department IT&C | Support and Infrastructure Role Infrastructure Engineer Locations Romania Remote status Fully Remote Employment type Full-time About Evolve Today This text can be a short description about your company.
