Job Description This is a remote position. The Opportunity: At Pentoz, we are transforming the digital commerce landscape by delivering robust, scalable online store solutions. As a VirtueMart Developer, you will be responsible for building and customizing eCommerce sites powered by the Joomla CMS and VirtueMart extension. Your work will support clients across diverse industries including retail, distribution, services, and digital products. This role combines technical expertise with a strong understanding of CMS architecture, enabling you to build secure, optimized, and user-friendly shopping experiences. You Will Be Responsible For: Developing and maintaining VirtueMart-based eCommerce websites within the Joomla CMS Creating custom VirtueMart components, modules, and templates as per project requirements Integrating payment gateways, shipping APIs, CRM/ERP systems, and marketing tools Performing Joomla and VirtueMart version upgrades, security patches, and performance optimizations Writing clean PHP code and managing MySQL databases Configuring store settings, product catalogs, and user roles Troubleshooting site issues and ensuring cross-browser/mobile compatibility Collaborating with designers, content creators, and project managers for seamless execution This Role Is For You If: You have 2+ years of experience in Joomla and VirtueMart development You are proficient in PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript You understand eCommerce workflows including checkout, cart management, and customer portals You are comfortable customizing Joomla extensions and working with Joomla templates You can work independently and deliver on tight deadlines You understand security best practices and SEO fundamentals for eCommerce Bonus Points If You Have: Experience in developing multilingual and multi-currency VirtueMart stores Familiarity with Joomla frameworks such as T3 or Gantry Integration experience with tools like Mailchimp, Google Analytics, and social commerce platforms Exposure to web performance tools and caching systems (e.g., JCH Optimize, CDN setups) Background in UI/UX optimization for shopping experiences What We Offer: Full autonomy and creative input in eCommerce projects Competitive salary and project success bonuses Remote work flexibility with a collaborative team culture Exposure to high-impact projects across international markets Career progression into roles like Lead Joomla Developer or eCommerce Solutions Architect About Pentoz: Pentoz is a next-gen technology company focused on scalable, high-impact solutions across eCommerce, SaaS, and enterprise innovation.
