VMware Cloud Foundation Junior Engineer (Madrid - hybrid)

The selected candidate will join our client directly on a permanent contract, as part of a stable team, with a long-term development plan and all certification costs covered by our client

Position description

We are looking for VMware Cloud Foundation Junior Engineers with solid IT fundamentals who want to become Cloud consultants specialist in Private Cloud Solutions with VMware VCF solutions. You will start with an intensive training program of 3–4 months that takes you from IT fundamentals to enterprise virtualization, Kubernetes, VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), data protection and infrastructure automation, following official VMware certification paths. Once trained, you will join customer projects alongside the senior team, supporting the implementation of private cloud solutions and their ongoing operations.
No extensive professional experience is required: we value solid foundations, curiosity and the discipline to complete a demanding program.

Responsibilities

• Support in the implementation of Cloud Computing solutions for Private Cloud
• Take part in the preparation of project documentation
• Customer assistance, including managed services or on-site consulting
• Help in solving complex problems in critical environments

Professional experience

Up to 2 years of professional experience in IT infrastructure (e.g., systems administration, networking, virtualization or data center environments). Recent graduates and candidates with demonstrable hands-on work, such as a home lab, are welcome. Virtualization experience is highly valued, though not essential; knowledge of SDDC and VMware technologies (vSphere, vSAN, NSX) is a plus.

Requirements

• Interest in learning and taking part in innovative projects
• Proactive and confident attitude, as well as analytical and conceptual skills
• Ability to work in a team and customer orientation
• Confident handling of Linux and Windows systems and IP networks
• Knowledge of CLI, scripting, server hardware and virtualization

Nice to have – ideally for experienced people

• Some hands-on experience with hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) solutions, such as VMware VCF
• Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery solutions, such as Site Recovery Manager
• Knowledge of VMware networking solutions, such as NSX
• Knowledge of data center automation (Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell, etc.)
• Ability to work in accordance with ITIL recommendations and/or agile methodologies

Education and training

• University degree or vocational training diploma in IT, computer science or telecommunications
• Or equivalent self-taught training, with demonstrable fundamental knowledge

Languages

• Spanish: fluent
• English: high (B2) or higher
