Apply Description Position Summary: The Volunteer Support Coordinator (VSC) covering Lewisburg and Williamsport area is responsible for developing and implementing plans to recruit and retain both girl members and adult volunteers within an assigned geographic area in a way which positively supports organizational and membership goals. VSCs are also accountable for supporting Product Program campaigns in assigned areas as well as working in partnership with volunteers at both the troop and service unit levels in order to foster an exceptional Girl Scout Experience. Key Responsibilities: Ensure the Girl Scout Leadership Experience is facilitated and implemented in a manner that is consistent with GSHPA and GSUSA current guidelines and expectations, and act as a role model for positive promotion of Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania activities, initiatives, and goals. Build and foster engaged relationships with current and future volunteers and cultivate collaborations between troops and Service Units. Support new and returning volunteers in a manner which aligns with current GSHPA and local needs and strategies. Onboard all new troop leaders according to GSHPA procedures. Work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends. Work in collaboration with the Volunteer Training Manager to support new volunteer training. Make recommendations for Service Unit Leads in assigned territories and provide ongoing support to Service Units. Support assigned Troop and Service Unit leadership in preparing, training, and implementing the program aspect of the annual Product Program campaigns with the goal of promoting a high level of girl participation to meet established Product Program goals based on assigned territory. Work with the Regional Director to implement a comprehensive plan for girl and volunteer membership growth in assigned territory to support overall council membership goals. Develop and support volunteer and girl recruitment teams in each service area who will implement community facing recruitment efforts to meet defined territory goals. Work with local membership to cultivate strategic community partnerships that lead to diverse membership growth. Work in partnership with GSHPA Membership team to ensure coordinated recruitment and conversion efforts through consistent approach and messaging. Study and become proficient in girl and adult related trends, multi-cultural data and demographics, effective communication, and marketing techniques to effectively implement a membership plan. Participate in membership and volunteer support focus groups, projects, and task teams as assigned. Provide professional, quality customer service to all customers (i.e. donors, members, volunteers, staff and other community contacts). Handle confidential information with integrity and discretion. Demonstrate commitment to the Girl Scout mission by representing GSHPA in a positive and professional manner. Work independently with limited supervision. Perform other duties as assigned in support of council-wide initiatives and/or cross functional teams to further the mission of GSHPA. Requirements Qualifications, Skills & Abilities: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor's Degree preferred. Excellent PC skills, including proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Teams). Experience with Salesforce preferred. Proficient in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook), Adobe Acrobat, and virtual meeting platforms (Zoom and Microsoft Teams). Experience with Salesforce or other CRM software preferred. Bilingual Spanish/English preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail. Conduct polite and professional communication in person in addition to via phone, virtual meetings, email, and/or mail. Effectively identify, analyze and solve problems. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and have access to reliable transportation. Pass and maintain required background clearances. Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize a high volume of work while managing multiple deadlines in a continually changing work environment. Work with individuals of diverse background and ages. Use sound judgment and critical thinking skill when decision making. Effective conflict resolution skills. Handle confidential information with integrity and discretion. Strong public relations skills and ability to develop community collaborations. Travel throughout the council, as needed. Lift/carry thirty (30) pounds. Sitting, standing, or walking for a moderate period of time is required.
