Role Description The Volunteer Video Editor and Creator is a full-time remote role responsible for producing high-quality video content that supports the organization’s mission and programs. Day-to-day tasks include planning video concepts, editing raw footage, adding graphics and effects, and optimizing audio and visual quality for digital platforms. The role involves collaborating with program leads to translate complex topics like energy, climate change, and technology into engaging visual stories for education, outreach, and advocacy. The volunteer will manage video timelines, ensure consistent branding, and adapt content for social media, websites, and online campaigns. This role requires proactive communication, reliable time management, and a strong interest in social impact and educational media.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in video editing tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve) and basic motion graphics or visual effects.
• Experience in video production, including storyboarding, scripting, filming, and assembling multimedia elements.
• Strong understanding of digital media formats, social media platforms, and best practices for online video content.
• Ability to communicate complex topics clearly and visually, with an interest in energy, climate change, education, or technology.
• Excellent attention to detail, time management skills, and the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and comfort collaborating with diverse, international teams.
• Prior experience creating educational or advocacy content is beneficial; familiarity with Sub-Saharan African contexts is a plus.
• Relevant coursework or experience in media production, film, communications, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
