The Global Institute for Professional Development (GIPD) is seeking an accomplished visionary leader to guide the continued growth, development, and impact of its professional development portfolio. The Vice President/Dean will provide strategic and operational leadership for GIPD, ensuring that its programs remain aligned with organizational priorities, responsive to stakeholder needs, and consistently deliver a high quality participant experience — overseeing and evolving established academies, while advancing new initiatives that expand GIPD's offerings, relevance, delivery models, and impact. Reporting into ITSMF's executive leadership and working closely with program directors, facilitators, and external partners, the VP/Dean will connect strategy with execution: strengthening curriculum and program quality, developing meaningful measures of success, managing financial performance, cultivating stakeholder relationships, and ensuring GIPD has the people, systems, and resources necessary to deliver on its priorities. ITSMF is headquartered in Atlanta, GA. This role is fully remote.
What We're Looking For
Strategic Leader
A forward-thinking executive who can translate organizational priorities into a clear strategy for professional development — assessing stakeholder needs, identifying opportunities for growth and innovation, and guiding the continued evolution of GIPD's programs with sound judgment and the ability to turn ideas into actionable plans.
Leadership & Professional Development Expert
Substantial experience in executive education, leadership development, learning and development, talent development, or a related field, with the ability to design, deliver, evaluate, and continuously improve high-quality experiences that stay relevant to participant needs.
Program Portfolio Leader
Experience overseeing multiple academies, programs, and emerging initiatives simultaneously — ensuring programs are effectively planned, coordinated, delivered, and evaluated while strengthening the systems and processes that support ITSMF's work.
Business & Financial Steward
The business and financial acumen necessary to manage the GIPD budget and support a sustainable program model, with the judgment to evaluate program performance and identify new revenue opportunities.
Relationship & People Leader
A credible, executive-presence leader who builds trust with senior leaders, Board members, corporate partners, and program participants, while supervising, developing, and supporting the GIPD team with clear expectations and meaningful feedback.
Thought Leader & Communicator
Someone who stays informed on developments in leadership, professional development, technology, and innovation, and who can translate ideas for different audiences through presentations, executive briefings, and content — strengthening GIPD's visibility and credibility.
Key Responsibilities
Program Strategy & Execution
- Lead GIPD's strategic and operational direction across the design, delivery, evaluation, and continued development of its programs and services.
- Oversee the established portfolio — Management Academy, Executive Academy, and Board Bound, Cultivating Dynamic Leaders, Technology, Executive, Elective Development Series.
- Lead the planning and development of emerging initiatives, including CXO Development, and the Forums IGNITE, Emerge and Elevate.

Leadership & Operations
- Manage financial performance and the GIPD budget.
- Supervise, develop, and support program directors, facilitators, and internal teams.
- Ensure GIPD has the people, systems, and resources necessary to deliver on its priorities.
External Engagement

Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in business, education, organizational development, human resources, leadership, learning and development, or a related field is required; a Master's degree is strongly preferred.
- At least 10 years of progressively responsible experience in executive education, leadership development, learning & development, talent development, professional development, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience designing, developing, delivering, and evaluating leadership or professional development programs.
- Experience managing a complex portfolio of programs or multiple concurrent strategic initiatives. Demonstrated experience collaborating effectively with senior executives, Boards, and other key stakeholders.
This is a remote position with periodic in-person meetings and overnight travel; approximately 30% travel annually is anticipated.
