If you are motivated by meaningful work, global impact, and innovation in clinical research and digital health — including the opportunity to work with cutting-edge AI technologies — you will find purpose and opportunity at Signant Health.
About the Role
The VP, Finance and Global Controller will lead Signant Health's global accounting and controllership function, owning the integrity of financial reporting across all entities and geographies. This role is central to driving the company's financial systems strategy, including utilizing AI in processing and the ongoing optimization of NetSuite and OneStream for consolidation and multinational financial reporting. The ideal candidate combines deep technical accounting expertise with hands-on systems fluency and experience managing the complexity of a multi-entity, multi-currency organization.
We are looking for an innovative and forward-thinking finance executive who is ready to embrace automation, digital transformation, and AI to build a modern, nimble, and customer-focused FP&A function.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Global Controllership
• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process across all Signant Health entities, ensuring timely and accurate consolidated financial statements.
• Maintain and continuously improve internal controls (SOX-ready environment), accounting policies, and technical accounting positions in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS.
• Oversee statutory reporting and audit coordination across multiple jurisdictions, including oversight of local controllership teams, and partnerships with external auditors and tax advisors.
Systems & Process Ownership
• Serve as the finance organization's executive owner for NetSuite and OneStream, driving system optimization, workflow automation, and data integrity across consolidation/reporting, AP, AR, GL, and intercompany processes.
• Partner with IT and FP&A to ensure seamless integration between NetSuite, OneStream, and other financial systems, improving close speed and reporting accuracy.
• Provide leadership to the controllership team on utilization of AI with a mindset of continuous improvement.
Multinational Finance Operations
• Manage the complexities of a multinational structure, including multi-currency consolidation, transfer pricing coordination, intercompany transactions, and foreign currency translation/remeasurement.
• Ensure consistent accounting policy application across all international entities.
• Lead global tax and treasury teams, in partnership with global legal teams, on cross-border structuring, entity rationalization, and compliance matters.
Tax Oversight
• Provide leadership to the Global Tax Director to provide oversight of the global tax function, including coordination of income tax provision (ASC 740) preparation and review in partnership with external tax advisors.
• Manage tax risk across the multinational entity structure, including monitoring of permanent establishment exposure, withholding tax obligations, and indirect tax (VAT/GST/sales tax) compliance.
• Partner with external tax counsel and advisors on tax planning strategies, entity restructuring, and M&A tax due diligence/integration.
Leadership & Business Partnership
• Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing global accounting team, including outsourced providers.
• Partner with the CFO and senior leadership on financial strategy, M&A integration, and business decision support.
• Present consolidated financial results and key controllership updates — including tax exposure and planning initiatives — to executive leadership and the Board/investors.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES
Essential:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 15+ years of progressive accounting/controllership experience, including significant time in a multinational company with multi-entity, multi-currency operations.
• Deep understanding of project-based accounting and financials.
• Strong technical US GAAP knowledge.
• Hands-on experience implementing, optimizing, or administering NetSuite as the core ERP.
• Direct experience with OneStream (or comparable consolidation/EPM platforms such as Hyperion or Oracle EPM) for global consolidation and reporting.
• Working knowledge of corporate income tax, transfer pricing, and indirect tax requirements in a multinational context.
• Experience managing outsourced tax and audit relationships (Big 4 or regional firms) across multiple jurisdictions.
• Proven track record managing global teams and driving process improvement through systems and automation.
• Tech-savvy and eager to leverage AI and automation to enhance efficiency and decision-making.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex accounting matters for non-finance executives; board-ready communication and executive presence.
Desirable:
• CPA (Certified Public Accountant) strongly preferred.
• IFRS exposure.
• Direct tax oversight experience (this is not a hands-on tax preparation role).
• Experience in a PE-backed, high-growth, or healthcare/life sciences/clinical technology environment.
