Lead global growth. Build lasting client partnerships. Shape what comes next for QPS.
QPS is seeking an accomplished business development leader to lead our global laboratory BD teams and drive growth across our Neuropharmacology, Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK), Toxicology, Bioanalysis, and Translational Medicine services.
Reporting to the President & CEO and serving on the Senior Leadership Team, you will connect commercial strategy with day-to-day execution. You will develop regional leaders and teams, strengthen client relationships, and take an active role in major business opportunities while overseeing sales performance and departmental budgets.
You bring a strong understanding of laboratory services and bioanalysis, a record of winning business, and the ability to help others succeed. You know how to translate scientific capabilities into client solutions and work with scientific and operational colleagues to deliver on those commitments.
Responsibilities - what you'll lead
Global Lab BD Strategy: Set commercial priorities, sales goals, and regional plans that support growth across QPS’ laboratory service lines. Use client feedback, market trends, and competitive insights to identify opportunities for service and market expansion.
New Business and Client Relationships: Guide teams in attracting new clients, expanding existing accounts, and building long-term partnerships. Take an active role in strategic client meetings, presentations, proposals, bid defenses, and contract negotiations.
Team Leadership and Development: Lead and develop regional BD leaders and teams. Guide staffing, training, and performance management, with clear expectations, practical coaching, and accountability for results.
Sales Performance and Forecasting: Oversee sales activity, pipeline development, forecasts, and progress against targets. Promote consistent CRM use and work with team leaders to address gaps and improve results.
Collaboration Across QPS: Partner with scientific, laboratory, operational, proposal, and finance teams to develop competitive solutions. Align pricing, timelines, and client commitments with QPS’ capabilities, resources, and financial goals. Coordinate with Clinical BD leadership on shared accounts and opportunities.
Budget and Resource Management: Manage the Global Lab BD budget, including staffing and commercial expenses, and direct resources toward business priorities.
Company Leadership and Integration: Contribute to strategic planning and company-wide decisions. Provide performance and market updates to the President & CEO, leadership, and Board of Directors as requested. Help integrate existing and newly acquired businesses by aligning BD teams, accounts, processes, and systems.
Industry Representation and Execution: Represent QPS at client meetings and industry events. Manage priorities across regions and time zones, maintain timely follow-through, and ensure BD activities meet company policies and ethical business standards.
