About Revalia Bio

Revalia is generating the human data that AI models of human biology need. We keep donated, non-transplantable human organs functioning on our proprietary perfusion technology and measure how they behave and respond to medicines, producing data that is not available from other sources.

We are building this data to train AI models of human biology, with the aim of making drug discovery faster, safer and less costly. Our perfusion data is already becoming part of biopharma programs built on new approach methodologies (NAMs), and it supports IND filings and decisions to begin human clinical trials.

A Yale spinout headquartered in New Haven, CT, we are backed by $20M in venture funding and $30M in government contracts, including an ARPA-H award.

The role

The VP of Business Development will lead Revalia Bio's business development and sales activities with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. As the company's first dedicated commercial leader, this person will be responsible for customer engagement, contract negotiation and pricing, and for building the commercial team as the business grows.

This person will also help bring new offerings to market, including data licensing and AI-based products, and shape partnership structures beyond traditional fee-for-service agreements. The role combines established sales responsibilities with early-stage business development.

  • Reports to: CEO
  • Location: In person in New Haven, CT or Indianapolis, IN; remote candidates considered if willing to travel regularly

What you’ll do

Selling and deal-making

  • Lead discovery, scoping and proposal calls with scientific, procurement and executive stakeholders at pharma and biotech companies
  • Own MSA and SOW negotiations through close, working with legal, finance and scientific teams
  • Lead pricing and deal structuring, from pilot studies to multi-study programs
  • Grow existing accounts into repeat, multi-program relationships
  • Work with the CEO, COO and Chief Strategy Officer to develop commercial models for data and AI products
  • Represent Revalia at industry conferences and customer meetings

Building the team

  • Hire, manage and develop a commercial team as the business grows
  • Put CRM, pipeline reviews, forecasting and contract templates in place
  • Own the bookings plan and report pipeline and forecast to leadership and the board
  • Work with science, operations and product teams on feasibility, capacity and customer feedback

First-year priorities

  • Close the most advanced MSAs and SOWs in the current pipeline
  • Finalize and roll out study pricing
  • Convert early customers into multi-study programs
  • Make the first commercial hires
  • Sign first customers for discovery data sets

What you bring

  • 10+ years in business development, sales or alliance management in pharma, biotech, CROs or life science platform companies
  • Track record of closing complex deals with large pharma, including MSA and SOW negotiation
  • Experience setting pricing for scientific services or platforms
  • 3+ years managing people, with a willingness to stay hands-on
  • Solid understanding of drug discovery and preclinical development (e.g., DMPK, toxicology, delivery, translational science)
  • Established network across pharma and biotech R&D
  • Comfortable in a fast-moving, early-stage company

Nice to have

  • Advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, MD or MBA)
  • Experience with NAMs, organ-on-chip, organoids or human tissue models
  • Experience with data or AI licensing, or milestone- and royalty-based deals
  • Prior commercial leadership at a venture-backed company

Location, travel and compensation

New Haven, CT or Indianapolis, IN preferred; remote considered with roughly 25% travel. Expected base salary is $200,000 to $275,000 USD plus meaningful equity and bonus, with competitive benefits (health, dental, vision, retirement, disability, wellness stipend) from day one.

We look for people who live our values: world-class collaboration, cultivating deep trust, relentless adaptability, and persevering with uncommon grit.
