HiveWatch is a tech-forward, inclusive organization fostering the evolution of the physical security industry. We are a diverse team of forward thinkers who empower each other to find creative and collaborative solutions in an industry ripe for modernization. We are passionate about the problems we’re solving for our customers and equally passionate about the company we’re building.
HiveWatch is here to help security teams pivot from chasing threats to preventing them. We protect organizations, people, and property through the intelligent orchestration of physical security programs. With better communication, more insights, and less “noise”, we are modernizing what it means for businesses and their employees to truly feel safe.
The Role:
We are searching for a new VP-level Security Subject Matter Expert (SME) role to navigate high-stakes sales conversations with a nuanced understanding of security operations at corporate entities, technology, and physical security integration needs. This isn't a traditional Sales Engineer or Solutions Consultant role. It's built around someone who has lived the buyer's seat - ideally as a Director or VP of Security at a large enterprise - and who now wants to turn that credibility into revenue impact. This role will report to our GM & SVP Security Strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as a credible SME voice in strategic and enterprise sales conversations: joining prospect calls, briefings, and executive conversations as a peer-level security leader, not a vendor rep.
Act as a stand-in for our CEO/Head of Sales in sales and customer conversations when needed, preserving momentum and continuity on deals.
Partner day-to-day with our Head of Sales and Revenue team, embedding in deal strategy rather than parachuting in only for the close. This may include jumping into live deal conversations alongside sales reps: late-stage objections, competitive evaluations, security/technical due-diligence, and executive-level conversations as needed.
Collaborate with customers on business cases and strategy to help build internal champions and get buy-in.
Build direct relationships with security leaders (CSOs, CISOs, security directors, GSOC leaders, security technology leaders, etc.) at target accounts, drawing on firsthand operating experience to build trust quickly.
Translate real-world experience running enterprise security and GSOC programs into a compelling, specific narrative about how HiveWatch fits into a buyer's world.
Represent HiveWatch publicly - conferences, webinars, media, analyst conversations - as a practitioner voice, not just a company spokesperson.
Feed firsthand buyer insight (procurement realities, integration concerns, what actually gets budget approved) back to product, marketing, and sales leadership.
Candidate Profile & Qualifications
10+ years leading enterprise or Fortune 500-scale security programs, ideally at the Director or VP level
Successful operating experience (GSOC/security operations center, investigations, law enforcement, or military) with the strategic responsibility of running a corporate security program end-to-end, including building the financial business case for new investments and demonstrating real, measurable growth in that program's budget over time.
Direct, firsthand experience buying and integrating security technology, with a bias toward evaluating and adopting cutting-edge solutions; ability to demonstrate an understanding of budget cycles, procurement politics, and what separates a vendor who earns trust from one who gets politely ignored.
Demonstrated comfort operating at the executive level: has briefed C-suite leaders or boards on risk, and can hold a room of senior stakeholders.
Natural sales or influence instinct, even without a formal sales title before now — shown through things like building internal champions, running a consulting practice, public speaking, or media/industry presence.
Technically fluent, comfortable discussing how security systems, data, and software fit together.
Experience working at start-ups and entrepreneurial environments preferred. Either way, the successful candidate will be comfortable paving their own paths and thrive in ambiguity.
Existing reputation in the corporate security or GSOC community (speaking circuit, published writing, industry relationships) is a meaningful bonus, not a requirement.
What success looks like in the first 6–12 months
Becomes a trusted, requested voice on strategic deals within the first quarter.
Independently able to represent HiveWatch's point of view in rooms our CEO and Head of Sales aren’t in, with no drop-off in credibility.
Builds genuine, ongoing relationships with security leadership at a defined set of target accounts.
Measurably contributes to shorter sales cycles or higher win rates on security-leader-vetted opportunities.
