About the Role: IPSY is seeking a VP, TPM to act as a trusted partner to the CTO and to lead the centralized TPM function across our technology organization. This is a hybrid role that blends the strategic foresight of a Chief of Staff, the executional rigor of a Head of PMO, and the technical, metrics-driven mindset of a Digital Operational Excellence leader — applied to a high-volume, high-growth e-commerce and subscription-commerce platform. The VP, TPM will own the portfolio of strategic technology programs — platform modernization, checkout and payments, fulfillment, personalization, and subscription systems — while building the operating rhythm, governance, and instrumentation that let engineering, product, data, and operations move fast without breaking things. This role is ideal for a hands-on, technically fluent leader who is equally comfortable in a board deck and in a postmortem, and who understands what it takes to run a consumer digital platform at scale, including through peak commerce events. As IPSY executes a technology transformation — from platform modernization to business acceleration — this role ensures the org executes with focus, scales with discipline, operates with technical excellence, and treats reliability and customer experience as first-class business metrics. This position reports to the Chief Technology Officer and can be fully remote from any U.S. state where IPSY is authorized to hire. What You’ll Be Doing: Strategic Execution & CTO Enablement Drive annual planning, OKR alignment, and progress tracking across the technology organization. Take on sensitive, fast-moving cross-department initiatives that need discretion and the ability to pull the right people together quickly. Program & Portfolio Leadership Lead the centralized PMO function; define and implement its vision, operating model, and governance framework. Define and manage a portfolio of strategic initiatives spanning platform modernization, checkout/payments, fulfillment, personalization, subscription systems, and experience transformation. Build the operating framework the org uses to prioritize work, track milestones, resolve dependencies, manage budget, and flag risk before it becomes a problem. Keep Business, Engineering, Product, Data, and Infrastructure pulling in the same direction on scope, sequencing, and delivery dates. Build and lead a high-performing team of project/program managers; establish standardized methodologies (Agile, hybrid, stage-gate) fit to each program type. Drive end-to-end execution of complex, cross-functional programs (e.g., platform enhancements, personalization, fulfillment optimization). Introduce best practices, tools, and technologies to enhance execution (e.g., Jira, Asana, Smartsheet, portfolio tools). Agile & Product Enablement Partner with Product and Engineering leadership to strengthen Agile practices and delivery predictability. Support roadmap planning, backlog prioritization, and release governance. Enable data-driven decision-making and iterative delivery models. Digital Operational Excellence & Technical Fluency Own team oversight of Digital Operations and Site Event Operations, ensuring platform reliability, operational readiness, and flawless execution of peak commerce and site events. Drive the design and adoption of digital operational best practices across platform engineering, QA, SRE, and support. Define and own key digital operational performance KPIs (e.g., uptime, page load time, deployment frequency, incident MTTR, and error rates). Lead continuous improvement rituals (retrospectives, postmortems, tooling upgrades) to reduce friction and improve delivery velocity. Ensure the PMO risk framework accounts for payment/PCI-DSS compliance, data privacy, and third-party vendor risk (payment gateways, fulfillment/3PL partners). Resource Management & Capacity Planning Establish and lead enterprise resource management practices to support effective portfolio execution. Maintain a centralized view of resource capacity, demand, and allocation across all strategic initiatives; provide forward-looking capacity forecasts to inform prioritization, sequencing, and trade-off decisions. Partner with functional leaders (Product, Engineering, Marketing, Operations, Data) to align staffing plans with prioritized work. Identify resource constraints and recommend solutions (reallocation, hiring, outsourcing, reprioritization); enable scenario planning to assess the impact of new initiatives on existing commitments and trade-offs. Implement tools and processes to track resource utilization, skill alignment, and availability in real time. Ensure resource plans are directly tied to portfolio outcomes, timelines, and financial targets. Financial & Performance Management Oversee portfolio-level budgeting and forecasting. Track and report on delivery timelines, cost performance, ROI, and business outcomes; establish KPIs and OKRs linked to strategic initiatives. Organizational Health, Risk, Governance & Communication Build a culture of transparency, delivery accountability, and technical/operational excellence. Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and delivery excellence. Team Development & People Leadership Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing project/program management team; define clear roles, career paths, and development plans. Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance management aligned to organizational goals. Lead change management efforts to improve adoption of PMO practices. What We Are Looking For: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field 12+ years of experience in technology leadership spanning strategy, program management, and digital operations, with 5+ years in a PMO Proven track record supporting executive leaders (ideally a CTO and scaling operational capability in high-growth environments. Experience in consumer-facing digital products, e-commerce, or subscription-commerce platforms preferred Fluent in how digital platforms actually ship and get measured — delivery mechanics, instrumentation, engineering culture — and able to translate that across the org. Hands-on fluency with delivery and collaboration tools: Jira, Confluence, Asana, Smartsheet, Monday.com. Comfortable in technical conversations with engineering and SRE teams on architecture trade-offs, incident response, and system performance — without needing to write production code. Systems thinking and decision-making in ambiguous, fast-moving environments; adept at moving between 30,000-foot strategy and 3-foot daily execution. Skilled in cross-functional alignment and influence without direct authority. Strong financial acumen (budgeting, ROI, prioritization) and ability to design scalable governance models. Strong executive presence; strong written and verbal communication, able to synthesize technical and business context for a executive -level audience. Bonus if You Have: PMP, PgMP, or equivalent.
