Shape Advisor Growth Across the Market

Bring your recruiting expertise, market judgment, and executive influence to a role with broad impact. As VP II, Market Leader, you will build and execute a multi-year territory strategy, develop high-value advisor relationships, coach sales talent in the field, and help position LPL as the leading destination for financial advisors across independent, regional, and wirehouse channels.


Job Overview

The VP II, Market Leader is responsible for recruiting high-quality financial advisors to the LPL Financial platform and delivering territory sales results. This leader maintains a comprehensive view of the market, manages a complex recruiting pipeline, strengthens key internal and external relationships, and serves as a senior escalation point for complex transactions and negotiations. The role also provides in-field coaching and mentorship, supports recruiting outcomes across multiple geographies and market segments, and requires travel up to 80% of the time. The successful candidate must reside in the assigned territory or be willing to relocate.


Responsibilities

  • Own the development and execution of a multi-year strategic territory recruiting plan, aligning team members to the market segments with the greatest potential and balancing near-term results with long-range investments in coverage, talent deployment, and recruiting capability.
  • Foster a team-selling environment through territory alignment, collaboration, and sustained influence with VP, SVP, and EVP leaders across Business Development, Finance, Operations, Product, Technology, and Legal.
  • Lead senior leaders and Market Leader teams accountable for recruiting outcomes across multiple geographies and market segments, while providing in-field coaching that builds sales capability and execution discipline.
  • Manage a recruiting pipeline that transitions financial advisors to LPL and informs enterprise decisions related to advisor growth investments, market prioritization, and resource allocation.
  • Develop recruiting and sales strategies; research, source, and engage prospects; and present LPL’s value proposition throughout the due diligence process.
  • Act as the senior escalation point for complex advisor transactions, competitive negotiations, and strategic relationships, using strong communication and negotiation skills to advance decisions.
  • Build and maintain critical internal and external relationships, including affinity partnerships, while continually evaluating and improving recruiting practices and opportunities.
  • Use Salesforce and other sales technology tools to maintain current deal records, identify market trends, collaborate with team members, and track key performance indicators.
  • Partner with Business Development leadership on the continued evolution of LPL’s offering and capabilities to strengthen the firm’s position in the market.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • 10 or more years of financial services experience, including 10+ years in field-based broker-dealer business development, asset management wholesaling, or institutional custody sales.
  • Verifiable record of sales success, including managing and closing complex transactions and building relationships across senior internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience designing and executing strategies in partnership with cross-functional teams and business leaders in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with CRM and sales technology tools, with the ability to maintain accurate pipeline data and apply insights to territory and recruiting decisions.

Preferences

  • FINRA Series 7, 24, and 63/65 or 66 licenses.

  • Experience recruiting financial advisors across independent, regional, and wirehouse distribution channels.


Pay Range:

108,750-181,250/year


Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location. This position is also eligible to earn sales incentive compensation.
