VR Payments Claims Technician is responsible for performing one or more routine clerical operations such as: entering data, examining, verifying, and correcting various documents to ensure completeness and accuracy of data in accordance with payments processing procedures. Specific tasks/duties are assigned under adequate supervision. Entry-level reconciliation and posting will be assigned under detailed guidance. In most instances, an employee in this position will rely on the supervisors' instructions. Completed work will be reviewed for timeliness, accuracy and compliance with procedures.

Job Description

TheClaims Technician isresponsiblefor processing reimbursement payments for State Vocational Rehabilitation Agencies (SVRA) for the Social Security Ticket to Work Program. The successful candidate will provide instructions to SVRA about their payments and distribution. He/She will provide information to SVRA with professionalism, precision, and appropriate sense of urgency. In addition, he or she will work closely with the VR Payments Manager and Sr. Claims Technician to ensure all deliverables are accomplished.

The ideal candidate for this position will be extremely detailed, have effective time management skills and the ability to meet timelines consistently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process payments for State Vocational Rehabilitation Agencies (SVRA) for theSocial Security Ticket to Work Program
  • Respond to SVRA reimbursement payment inquiries regarding status of payments, clarification of policy and process payments
  • Evaluate and review all request reimbursement and cost by SVRAs to ensure compensation is made in a timely, accurate and efficient manner
  • Coordinate with SSA on any discrepancies or corrective action plan prior to making payments
  • Coordinate with SSA in creating automated payment utilizing their iTOPSS system
  • Adhere to performance requirements
  • Provide SVRA with updates ensuring compliance with timeline expectations
  • Making the SVRA aware of other services and actions that may lead to greater success
  • Keeping up on trends, changes, and competitor actions that might affect payments
  • Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies

Additional Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • BS or BA preferred

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with Federal program preferred
  • Project Management experience preferred

Compensation ranges for ASM Research positions vary depending on multiple factors; including but not limited to, location, skill set, level of education, certifications, client requirements, contract-specific affordability, government clearance and investigation level, and years of experience. The compensation displayed for this role is a general guideline based on these factors and is unique to each role. Monetary compensation is one component of ASM's overall compensation and benefits package for employees.
