Water Resources Project Manager/Technical Manager Hybrid What We’re Looking For: Michael Baker International is seeking a highly motivated individual to work in a high energy and fast paced team. As a part of our Water Team, the Water Resources Project Manager/Technical Manager will cultivate and maintain client relationships, as well as lead project pursuits by developing proposals and interviews. They will lead, assign, and review work produced by the Team; check work and progress and identify changes of scope and additional services. Staff mentorship and development are the responsibility of the individual, as well as the development and overseeing of budgets and schedules. Additionally, the successful candidate will provide technical direction, support and strategic planning while being a visible and active member of the water community through professional organization involvement. The successful individual will support tasks such as stormwater master planning, design of stormwater systems, culverts & bridges, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, post-flood recovery support, river restoration, and stream mechanics and geomorphology. In this job, you will: Spend most of your day supporting a team performing various tasks for projects in the following disciplines: watershed assessments, watershed planning studies, storm water/drainage way master plans, storm drainage design, river restoration, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, floodplain mapping studies, and post-flood recovery. Support stormwater, floodplain development, and wetland permit applications Support construction plans and specifications and support construction management. Develop and maintain trusted adviser relationships with key clients. Identify industry needs and lead market awareness including involvement in professional associations, technical articles, conferences, and boards. Participate in ongoing strategic positioning for major surface water project opportunities. Manage client relationships and guide the application of our services within the Water practice area to best serve the interests of the client. Be responsible for successful contracting and project execution, working closely with regional Michael Baker International staff and office leadership. What You’ll Need to Succeed: Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering Fundamental understanding of hydrology, hydraulics, and stormwater design. Professional Engineering (PE) license or the ability to obtain one Strong attention to detail Ownership and accountability for quality deliverables Ability to be flexible and have self-initiative Preferred Skills/Experience: Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include AutoCAD/MicroStation, ArcMap/ArcGIS Pro, and Hydrologic/Hydraulic models like HEC-RAS and SRH 2D) Experience preparing engineering related calculations and analyses, analyzing data in spreadsheets and programming tools, and preparing visual aids Experience preparing plans and specifications for storm water systems and stream channel restoration design projects Strong track record of executing projects and overseeing successful project delivery of a diversity of surface water projects for City, County and State agencies Demonstrated supervisor and mentoring skills Strong proposal writing and presentation skills Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, as well as exceptional organizational skills Compensation: The compensation range for this position is $130,000 – $160,000 per year. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location of the incoming candidate.
