Eurobrain is a technology company working at the intersection of engineering and AI. We are building a network of senior mechanical engineers to review technical drawings and 3D models, and to do the engineering themselves when needed.
What you will do
- Review 2D drawings and 3D models for correctness: dimensioning, GD&T and tolerancing, surface texture and manufacturability (DFM).
- Spot what is missing from a drawing, not only what is wrong in it.
- Approve the work, or send it back with focused feedback: what is wrong, where, and why.
- Do the engineering yourself where needed: modelling and annotating.
What we are looking for
- Around 5+ years as a mechanical or design engineer, with technical drawings as a daily part of your job. Fewer years is fine if your experience is directly relevant. Experience as a drawing checker, or with sign-off responsibility for drawings, is a strong plus.
- You read drawings fluently and work in SolidWorks or CATIA, in 2D and 3D.
- Strong GD&T knowledge (ISO GPS and/or ASME Y14.5): datums and datum systems, feature control frames, tolerance stacks.
- You review against current standards, for example ISO 1101, ISO 5459, ISO 8015, ISO 14405, ISO 22081 and ISO 21920.
- A sharp eye for manufacturability: you know how a part will be machined, finished and inspected.
- Clear, concise written English. Every comment you make states the problem, its location and the reason.
- An independent, quality-driven way of working.
- Nice to have: MBD/PMI in 3D (STEP AP242); experience in a regulated or high-precision field (medical, high-tech, aerospace); your own SolidWorks or CATIA licence.
What we offer
- A freelance (B2B) engagement, fully remote.
- Flexible hours per week: any amount of time works, and the more you can take on, the better.
- Ongoing work, starting as soon as possible, long-term for a good fit.
- A competitive hourly rate, agreed after the call.
Who can apply
- You are based in Europe (EU/EEA, UK or Switzerland). We only hire within Europe for this role.
- You can work as an independent contractor and invoice from your own business.
- You are willing to sign an NDA
How we select
- Apply via LinkedIn and answer the screening questions.
- We send you one real drawing to review. It takes 10–15 minutes: tell us what you would flag and why.
- If your review is strong, we invite you to a video call with our engineering lead.
- Contract and NDA, then onboarding.
