Role Description The WordPress Developer will be responsible for building, customizing, and maintaining WordPress-based websites and web applications in a full-time remote capacity. Daily tasks include developing custom themes and plugins, implementing front-end designs, optimizing site performance, and ensuring responsive, accessible user interfaces. The role involves integrating third-party APIs, managing databases and server-side logic as needed, and troubleshooting technical issues across staging and production environments. The developer will collaborate with designers, project managers, and other engineers to translate business requirements into scalable WordPress solutions and uphold best practices in security, code quality, and version control. Ongoing responsibilities include updating existing sites, performing regular maintenance, and contributing to continuous improvement of development workflows and documentation.
Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Front-End Development skills, including responsive web design and a solid understanding of modern UI/UX practices.
• Candidates should possess Back-End Web Development skills relevant to WordPress, such as PHP, MySQL, and integration with server-side technologies.
• Candidates should possess Web Design and Web Development skills, including theme customization, plugin configuration, and site performance optimization.
• Proficiency with WordPress core, custom themes, and plugin development, as well as familiarity with popular page builders and frameworks.
• Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and common WordPress-related tools (e.g., Git, WP-CLI, debugging and caching plugins).
• Understanding of SEO best practices, accessibility standards, and secure coding principles for WordPress environments.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage multiple projects, and communicate clearly with cross-functional teams.
• Relevant experience as a WordPress Developer or similar role; a portfolio of WordPress projects is highly beneficial.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred, but equivalent practical experience is also valued.
