About the Role

As a Workday FINS Consultant, you will lead and support medium to large enterprise Workday Financials implementations and optimization engagements. You will serve as a subject matter expert across Core Financials and related product areas, partnering with finance leaders to design and deploy solutions that align with business strategy and operational goals.

You will be responsible for guiding clients through discovery, solution design, configuration, testing, and go-live, while ensuring adherence to best practices and scalable design principles. This role requires strong financial systems knowledge, the ability to lead design discussions, and comfort engaging with senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead discovery sessions to understand client financial processes, reporting requirements, and system landscape
• Design and configure Workday Financials solutions, including Accounting Center, Workday Financials, and Workday Foundation Data Model (FDM)
• Facilitate design meetings and workshops, driving alignment and collaborative decision-making
• Provide subject matter expertise across Core FINS and cross-application features
• Translate complex business requirements into scalable system configurations
• Support data conversion, integrations, testing strategy, and deployment activities
• Manage deliverables in alignment with project timelines and milestones
• Partner with senior finance leaders to recommend best practices and process improvements
• Stay current on Workday releases and new features, advising clients on optimization opportunities
• Contribute to internal capability building, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

Basic Requirements

• 5+ years of Financials (FINS) software and consulting experience on medium or large enterprise FINS projects, or applicable practitioner deployment experience
• 5+ years of experience with the Workday Accounting Center, Workday Financials or Workday Foundation Data Model (FDM)
• 3+ years of Workday Consulting experience or experience serving as a Workday Subject Matter Expert (SME)

Other Requirements

• Demonstrates a strong grasp of financial systems, accounting principles, and finance operational processes
• Ability to gain and maintain a detailed understanding of Workday concepts, Core FINS enhancements, and cross-application features
• Workday Financials certification or ability to obtain certification and effectively deploy solutions
• Experience influencing, interacting, and collaborating with senior leaders (internally and externally)
• Capable of leading and influencing design meetings toward effective, scalable outcomes
• Ability to deliver results while managing to a defined project plan and timeline
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with global implementations preferred
• Ability to work across multiple engagements simultaneously in a fast-paced consulting environment
