Uplifting Your Career at Ornge

Join a Transformation That Matters.

At Ornge, we're embarking on a significant organization-wide transformation through the implementation of Workday. This is a unique opportunity to lead a high-impact initiative that will modernize how we support our people, strengthen organizational effectiveness, and enhance the employee experience across Ontario.

We're seeking an experienced project leader who has successfully delivered complex enterprise technology or business transformation initiatives. While Workday experience is considered a strong asset, we are equally interested in candidates who have led large-scale HRIS, ERP (HR and Payroll), HCM, or similar technology implementations and can bring proven leadership, stakeholder engagement, and delivery expertise.

Reporting to the Manager, Project Management Office, this role will lead the successful delivery of the Workday program, partnering with leaders, subject matter experts, technology teams, and implementation partners to bring the organization's vision to life.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Lead the successful implementation of Workday, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and business objectives.
  • Manage all phases of the project lifecycle, including planning, governance, execution, testing, deployment, stabilization, and optimization.
  • Develop and manage project plans, budgets, timelines, risks, dependencies, and key deliverables.
  • Partner with stakeholders, vendors, and implementation teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Lead business process review and redesign activities to improve efficiency, consistency, and user experience.
  • Oversee solution design, data migration, integrations, testing, reporting, and analytics activities.
  • Establish effective governance, security, and change control processes.
  • Lead organizational change management, communication, training, and adoption activities.
  • Provide regular updates and recommendations to project sponsors, governance committees, and senior leaders.
  • Identify opportunities to maximize business value and continuous improvement following implementation.

Qualifications:

  • University degree in Business, Information Technology, Human Resources, Project Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum seven (7) years of experience leading complex enterprise-wide technology, digital transformation, HRIS, ERP, HCM, or business transformation initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience leading at least one end-to-end enterprise technology implementation through planning, deployment, go-live, and stabilization. Workday implementation experience is considered a strong asset.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation required or strongly preferred.
  • Experience leading large-scale organizational change and business process transformation initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise technology implementation methodologies, governance frameworks, and leading practices.
  • Proven ability to influence senior leaders and manage complex stakeholder, vendor, and implementation partner relationships.
  • Experience overseeing data migration, systems integration, reporting, analytics, and governance activities.
  • Exceptional communication, facilitation, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience within a unionized, healthcare, public sector, or broader public sector environment is considered an asset.
  • Change Management certification (e.g. Prosci) is considered an asset.

Total Rewards:

  • 24/7 Employee and Family Assistance Program.
  • Premium Defined Benefits (Health and Dental).
  • Pension Plan (Optional Enrollment).
  • PERKS! Employee Promotional Programs relating to personal phone plans, furniture, home/car insurance, travel, fitness, attractions and more!
