McKesson is an impact-driven, Fortune 10 company that touches virtually every aspect of healthcare. We are known for delivering insights, products, and services that make quality care more accessible and affordable. Here, we focus on the health, happiness, and well-being of you and those we serve – we care.

What you do at McKesson matters. We foster a culture where you can grow, make an impact, and are empowered to bring new ideas. Together, we thrive as we shape the future of health for patients, our communities, and our people. If you want to be part of tomorrow’s health today, we want to hear from you.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Workday Platform Integration Specialist to design, develop, maintain, and support integrations across the Workday ecosystem and connected enterprise applications.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Workday integration technologies, APIs, enterprise security, monitoring, and production support. In addition to core integration responsibilities, this role serves as the primary technical point of contact for SOX-related activities involving Workday integrations, supporting governance, audit readiness, compliance requirements, and operational controls.

The successful candidate combines strong technical expertise with a controls-oriented mindset, ensuring integrations are reliable, secure, well documented, appropriately governed, and audit ready.

Key Responsibilities

Workday Integration

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and support integrations between Workday and internal and external applications.
  • Develop solutions utilizing Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), Core Connectors, Cloud Connect, RaaS, Workday Web Services, REST APIs, SOAP APIs, XML/XSLT, and related Workday integration technologies.
  • Develop and maintain custom reports, calculated fields, and data transformations required to support integration requirements.
  • Troubleshoot integration failures, authentication issues, data discrepancies, and scheduled-job failures.
  • Monitor production integrations and coordinate timely resolution of issues.
  • Participate in Workday releases, regression testing, integration testing, and production deployments.
  • Maintain technical documentation, integration inventories, support procedures, and detailed data mappings.
  • Partner with business, security, IAM, infrastructure, and third-party vendor teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.

Integration Security & Governance

  • Ensure integrations comply with enterprise architecture, security, development, and change management standards.
  • Support governance of Integration System Users (ISUs), Integration Security Groups, service accounts, credentials, certificates, and authentication mechanisms.
  • Apply secure integration patterns, including OAuth 2.0 and API-based authentication.
  • Participate in security reviews and technical assessments.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to simplify integrations, improve monitoring, and reduce technical debt.

SOX & Integration Controls

  • Serve as the primary integration-team contact for SOX-related activities and controls.
  • Partner with Internal Controls, Audit, Security, and Compliance teams to ensure effective governance and policy adherence.
  • Maintain documentation and inventory of SOX-relevant integrations, service accounts, scheduled jobs, and supporting controls.
  • Support monitoring, exception management, and remediation activities.
  • Ensure development, testing, approval, and deployment processes comply with applicable SOX requirements.
  • Support periodic access reviews, privileged access reviews, and production change reviews.
  • Identify and help remediate integration-related control gaps.

Audit & Compliance Support

  • Coordinate responses to Internal Audit, External Audit, Internal Controls, Information Security, and Compliance stakeholders.
  • Participate in walkthroughs and explain integration architecture, monitoring, security controls, and change management processes.
  • Collect and maintain audit evidence supporting control testing activities.
  • Maintain traceability between controls and supporting approvals, testing results, deployment records, incidents, and system reports.
  • Support remediation efforts related to audit observations and control deficiencies.
  • Promote sustainable, year-round audit readiness practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years of Workday experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of Workday integration development experience.
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB)
    • Core Connectors

    • SOAP APIs
    • XML/XSLT
  • Experience integrating Workday with Payroll, Finance, Identity Management, and external vendor systems.
  • Full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) experience.
  • Experience supporting governance, controls, audit activities, or SOX-related processes.
  • Understanding of privileged access controls, change management controls, and audit requirements.
  • Experience supporting audit responses, evidence collection, or governance reviews.
  • Strong troubleshooting and production support experience.
  • Experience creating and maintaining technical and operational documentation.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.

Governance & Controls Experience

  • Working knowledge of SOX IT General Controls (ITGCs) or equivalent governance frameworks.
  • Understanding of:
    • Privileged access controls
    • Service account governance
    • Change management
    • Testing and deployment controls
    • Monitoring and exception management
    • Audit evidence collection and traceability
  • Experience supporting audit walkthroughs, evidence requests, remediation activities, or control testing.
  • Ability to communicate technical controls to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Direct SOX experience is preferred; candidates with less than one year of direct SOX experience may still be considered if they demonstrate strong governance, compliance, controls, or audit support experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Workday Studio experience.
  • Workday Integration Certification.
  • Experience supporting Workday within large or regulated enterprise environments.
  • Experience working directly with internal or external auditors.
  • Familiarity with IAM, privileged access management, ITSM, and middleware platforms.
