Position Available
Role Title: Working Site Lead
Role Description: The Working Site Lead is a hands-on cleaning position responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and quality across assigned client sites. In addition to performing regular janitorial duties, this role serves as a lead resource by providing guidance, support, and direction to team members when needed, assisting with training, inspections, and operational coverage. As a newly created role designed to support the continued growth of the company’s janitorial operations, the Working Site Lead will help ensure customer satisfaction and service consistency while gaining increased leadership responsibilities as the organization expands.
Location: Sudbury
Schedule: Full-Time – varied days, evenings, and weekends based on operational requirements
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform janitorial duties as required while providing day-to-day guidance and support to site staff, helping maintain staffing coverage and ensuring smooth operations across assigned locations.
- Conduct site inspections and quality checks, identify deficiencies, follow up on corrective actions, and maintain accurate site and inspection records.
- Support the onboarding and training of new employees, provide ongoing coaching, and reinforce company standards, cleaning procedures, safety requirements, and workplace expectations.
- Act as an on-site contact for clients when required, respond professionally to questions or concerns, and support strong client relationships and service satisfaction.
- Monitor cleaning supplies, PPE, and equipment levels, report shortages or maintenance needs, and promote proper handling and storage of products and equipment.
- Lead by example and provide hands-on cleaning support when required, including coverage for absenteeism, vacations, short staffing, or other operational needs.
- Promote and follow all company health and safety policies and procedures, identify and report hazards or incidents, and support ongoing safety initiatives.
- Maintain proactive communication with supervisors and management regarding site conditions, staffing, employee performance, client concerns, operational challenges, and opportunities for improvement. Complete daily site summaries, HRIS documentation, and other required records.
- Identify potential additional service opportunities, such as carpet cleaning, window cleaning, deep cleaning, and other periodic or project-based work, and communicate these opportunities to management.
- Document employee achievements and performance concerns and communicate matters requiring follow-up or formal action to the appropriate Supervisor or Manager.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills Requirements
- Previous experience in janitorial, industrial cleaning, or service-based required
- Prior supervisory or team lead experience considered an asset
- Valid driver’s license with own mode of transportation
- Must be bondable and legally able to work in Canada
- Must be flexible and available on evenings and weekends as necessary
- Ability to lift, carry, and move packages up to 50lbs
- Strong time management and organization skills
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
- Strong leadership, work ethic and attention to detail
- Previous cleaning experience considered an asset
- Bilingual – English, French and Spanish considered an asset
