Working Student Growth & Commercial Analytics (m/f/d)

Your mission

Checkmk is a leading IT monitoring solution used by IT professionals worldwide. Our Growth & Commercialization team decides where we invest in sales-led and product-led growth, and we want those decisions to rest on data.

The data we need is spread across several systems and is often incomplete. You will help us find it, combine it and turn it into answers we can act on. Most of your time goes to growth analytics. The rest supports Product Marketing with competitive and pricing work. We do not require previous work experience.

Your responsibilities
Growth analytics

• Combine product usage, customer, sales and marketing data to answer concrete questions: why we win and lose deals, which customers are ready to expand, where free users get stuck, and what moves them to a paid edition.
• Find usable data where no clean dataset exists, inside the company and in public sources.
• Help define which product usage data we collect, and how.
• Build recurring reports the team can use without you, and document sources, definitions and known gaps.

Product marketing

• Competitive intelligence: track pricing, packaging and positioning of competitors such as Datadog, Dynatrace and Nagios.
• Pricing analysis: benchmark price points, model scenarios and analyze deal data.
• Market research: trends and market size in IT monitoring and observability.

Your profile

• You are enrolled at a university (Business, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics or similar) and available for 20 hours per week, ideally for at least 12 months.
• You are confident in Excel or Google Sheets. SQL, Python or R are a plus. If you don’t have them yet, you are willing to learn.
• You are resourceful: when the data you need doesn’t exist, you find another way to get it.
• You check data before drawing conclusions, and you say how confident you are in a result.
• You can explain findings plainly, in writing and in short presentations.
• You are interested in B2B software. You don’t need an IT background, but you want to understand how our users work with the product and how customers buy.
• You use AI tools sensibly and check what they produce.
• Very good English. German is a plus.
